Position Summary
The Toddler Assistant Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to implement daily routines, engage children in meaningful play and learning activities, and ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
Support the Lead Teacher in planning and leading age-appropriate activities.
Engage actively with toddlers in classroom play, exploration, and social-emotional learning.
Assist with diapering, feeding, and nap time routines.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
Observe and report developmental milestones and behavioral concerns to the Lead Teacher or Director.
Communicate positively with parents and guardians during drop-off/pick-up.
Follow all Virginia state licensing requirements and center policies.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Friendly, dependable, and patient with strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift and interact with young children safely.
