Reports to: Principal
The Instructional Assistant fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by assisting the classroom teacher in planning, guiding, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment. The Instructional Assistant assists the classroom teacher in evaluating the learning process of the students in the Catholic school for whom the teacher is responsible within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The Instructional Assistant helps the teacher prepare instructional materials, assists with students, and supports learning activities that have been defined by the teacher.

Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.

Planning/Preparation
Assist the teacher(s) in preparing materials, teaching aids, bulletin boards and equipment for direct instructional activity, including locating, copying, collating, distributing, and/or grouping materials supporting instructional activities planned by the teacher.
Schedule space for specialized instructional programs and coordinate the arrangement of equipment, desks, tables, chairs and activity areas
Examine short- and long-term unit plans prepared by the teacher and anticipate the need for specific supplies and materials
Assist the teacher in preparing for changing curriculum to meet the needs of students
Confer with teacher on progress of students.
Serve as substitute teacher when necessary
Administrative/Management

Provide student supervision before, during, and after school while they are loading, riding, and unloading buses or cars, on the playground, in the cafeteria, in a learning or practice situation, following appropriate training, as assigned.
Assist in maintaining the security of records, materials, and equipment
Assist the teacher in the enforcement of classroom rules and the maintenance of appropriate records.
Maintain a clean and orderly environment for students
Check objective tests and mark errors but not assign a grade.
Escort or transport students to and from classrooms, clinic, cafeteria as required.

Provide instructional assistance as planned or coordinated by the teacher or administrator.
Lead small group activity, following appropriate training, planned by the teacher in an atmosphere where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.

* Experience working at day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar experience with children
License and Credentials

-Ensures the classroom is maintained in an orderly fashion and assists with general housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning tables, cribs, mats, and toys
-Checks classroom, hallways, grounds, and playgrounds for maintenance or security hazards and notifies the Director
-Handles all FPCC equipment responsibly and with care, including computer, copy machine, toys, furniture, and other school items
-Maintains all areas of the classroom clutter free, organized and safe of any safety hazards.

Essential Duties

JOB SUMMARY:
We are searching for our next SUPER STAR ! As a Medical Assistant you will assist the physician with physical examinations and carry out nursing treatments and procedures according to Physician's documented orders. * Travels to other Centro Del Barrio sites in carrying out duties.
* Checks the treatment room for properly functioning equipment and stocks supplies
* Assists the provider in specialized examinations and treatments/procedures as directed.
* Keeps and maintains the inventory for the supply room and assists the LVN Nurse Supervisor in other duties.
* Performs venipuncture as ordered by provider.
* Abide by infection control policies and procedures as dictated in the Centro del Barrio Infection Control Manual.
* Abide by policies and procedures on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual.

IDEA Co-Teachers implement Direct Instruction Curriculum (DI) and are responsible for student instruction under the guidance of an IDEA teacher and assistant principal of instruction. DI co-teachers use clear instruction and always teach to mastery. This means that teachers do not move on in the lesson until students have grasped the content they need to know. Groups are organized by level, so that every
student can learn at their own pace.

Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $16.61 for 0 years of experience and $23.98
Hourly co-teachers earnings are paid out over a 12-month period

What You Bring -- Competencies
Qualifications:
Education: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability and motivation to master the Direct Instruction Curriculum
Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
What You'll Do -- Accountabilities
Responsibilities:
Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers
Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
Successfully implement the Direct Instruction (DI) Curriculum
Participate in lesson practice and delivery of our Direct Instruction (DI) Curriculum
Communicate students' progress with student and family on a weekly basis
Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing students' character and sense of community in the classroom
Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify.
Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs
Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school wide meetings and functions
Engage in summer and year-long district, school and personal learning and development
Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
Additional responsibilities may include: after-school tutoring or Saturday school and are based on the needs of our scholars
