Teaching is onsite (in clinical setting) with one of our clinical partners. Schedule: most commonly 12-hour rotations (7a-7p) for three to four consecutive days.
Maternal-Child Nursing course overview:
This course focuses on family-centered approaches to maternal/newborn care and incorporates health promotion and wellness issues. Responsibilities
In this role, the clinical instructor:
Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession
Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments
Plans clinical experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals
Evaluates and provides documented feedback to student on level of performance based on course objectives
Is available for remediation of students as required or needed
Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel
Develops and posts written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base, skill competency and individual learning needs
Grades homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner
May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator
Keeps course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns
Reports to the dean or assistant dean: a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight
Qualifications

About Our Dealership
Bretz RV & Marine opened for business in Missoula, Montana, in 1967. Until then, Frank and Vi Bretz had been operating a service station and renting U-Hauls in central Missoula. Searching for a new camping trailer turned into a new business opportunity. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Personal Care:
All essential functions will be performed with empathy, dignity and respect of the Elder and will respect and accommodate resident's individual choices whenever possible. The Personal Care Attendant will also facilitate and help the resident to complete as much of their personal care as possible
Provides for the daily hygiene care of the elders to include: bathing, dressing, grooming and related personal care
Assists resident to have clothes purchased, laundered, and repaired as needed
Responsible for taking and properly recording elder's vital signs. (i.e.: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.).
Responsible for observing Elders well being (i.e.: change in behavior, change in vital signs, etc.) and reporting such changes to the appropriate team member
Housekeeping & Maintenance of Home:
Involves the Elders in maintaining the home whenever possible
Cleans all areas of the Elder's environment according to housekeeping procedures
Performs minor household maintenance such as changing light bulbs, tightening cupboard knobs, etc
Reports shortages, breakage and malfunctioning of equipment
Knows and adheres to fire, emergency, and security policies and procedures
Implements infection control measures
Food Preparation and Service:
Plans meals with the Elders and with others in the household to provide an appetizing, balanced and nutritious diet. Facilitates flexibility in meal plan and provision
Encourages Elder's participation in food preparation, service, and clean up
Prepares and stores food as per requirements of Serve Safe™ course
Encourages and makes available healthy snacks
Orders groceries as per procedure
Supports the Elders in adhering to special diet requirements as required by the care plan
Communication:
Maintains confidentiality of information about the Elder and his or her family, etc
Keeps the Nurse informed of any changes in the Elder's condition through incidental and formal reports. Reports must be timely based on the type of change observed.
Work as a productive, supportive and communicative team member
Participates actively in team conferences and all other care team meetings
Accurately record care and observations on the clinical record of the resident
Responsible for ordering supplies for Brown's Landing and Cottage from appropriate departments
Encourage and support meaningful activities for Elders throughout the day using living opportunities, i.e., meal preparation, laundry, visiting as well as structured activities when possible
Safety:
Obeys safety rules of St. John's United
Identifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazards
Routinely places wet floor signs or other safety warning materials to notify others of the hazard
Attends mandatory safety in-services

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience in a human service or health care setting preferred. Must complete the SJU CNA Course within 6 months from hire date. Must obtain certification within 120 days of class completion.
Knowledge:
Knowledge and skills acquired through completion of the Elder Sharath training, must be certified nursing assistant and, complete Abuse Training and required training in Serve Safe ™, food preparation, basic nutritional guidelines related to resident menu planning and basics of household financial management, housekeeping, infection control, light maintenance.
Skills/Abilities:
Must possess good writing, verbal and observation skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional organizational abilities.
Complexity/Difficulty:
This position requires the ability to function independently in performing duties and be able to problem solve using good judgment with the Elder's involvement whenever possible. The person needs to be able to respond to Elders needs in a timely and professional manner, recognizing the Elder's rights.
