3. Assists the resident with self-administration of medications, through cueing only
4. Observes and reports changes in the residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services, as needed
5. Conducts room checks on resident rounds, monitors for environmental safety hazards, records incidents, errors or accidents and records resident and resident related events.
5. Assists in a variety of tasks related to dining (escorting residents, set-up and clean-up, serving meals)
6. Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident centered activity program. Completes required written documentation concerning resident care and activities during shift
7. Is a resident advocate at all times
8. Follows agency policies concerning confidentiality
9. Uses tactful, diplomatic communication in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations and follows up with appropriate staff, resident or others regarding reported
complaints, problems and concerns.

SF2 also focuses on the child development of the child(ren) through various assessments and the Parents as Teachers curriculum. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides home visits to assigned families where children may have been identified through program screening criteria as being "at risk" for abuse and/or neglect.
* Provides home visits to assigned families who are identified as needing services including but not limited to parenting and child development education, advocacy and support and assistance with accessing community resources.
* Makes home visits based on the needs of families.
* Provides families with information that includes but is not limited to child development, parenting, safety, immunizations and community resources.
* Utilizes program-approved curriculum to improve parenting skills and increase the understanding of normal child development.

DUTIES:
Plans and executes appropriate early childhood education experiences with a variety of material to promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child. Works with the director and teachers in developing and implementing age appropriate curriculum and activities. Helps establish a program environment that promotes positive child and youth interactions with other children, youth and adults. Assists in providing and leading planned activities for program participants. Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum:
1. High school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Must be able to read, write and speak in English.

4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds and over, sit and rise from the floor, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
5. Ability to satisfactorily complete Tier 1 background investigation, to include state checks, upon hiring and renew every 5 years.
6. Ability to satisfactorily pass the Civilian Medical Clearance Examination that is performed at preplacement and then every two years for every childcare position type.
Preferred (in addition to the minimum):
7. Two (2) years of education above the High School level, which includes twelve (12)- semester hours of college credit in early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human development, youth program administration or related behavioral sciences or a One (1) year vocational certificate in childcare.
