CNA - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides assistance with essential activities of daily living and personal care to residents based on age, needs and abilities of the resident, including bathing, dressing and undressing, ambulating, toileting, assistance with meals and nourishment's, personal hygiene (shaving, dental hygiene, nail, hair and foot care), transferring using proper body mechanics and appropriate assistive devices and care of ADL devices such as eyeglasses and hearing aids.
2. Provides assistance with instrumental activities of daily living to residents based on age, needs and abilities of the resident: placing and/or receiving telephone calls, performing light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathroom, bed making and bed changes, assisting with laundry, escorting the resident and coordinating internal transportation needs and assisting with mail delivery and correspondence
3. Assists the resident with self-administration of medications, through cueing only
4. Observes and reports changes in the residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services, as needed
5. Conducts room checks on resident rounds, monitors for environmental safety hazards, records incidents, errors or accidents and records resident and resident related events.
5. Assists in a variety of tasks related to dining (escorting residents, set-up and clean-up, serving meals)
6. Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident centered activity program. Completes required written documentation concerning resident care and activities during shift
7. Is a resident advocate at all times
8. Follows agency policies concerning confidentiality
9. Uses tactful, diplomatic communication in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations and follows up with appropriate staff, resident or others regarding reported
complaints, problems and concerns.
10. Acts as ambassador to guest and other off-campus visitors and maintains certifications required for employment
11. Performs other duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of experience in tasks in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration trade.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of General Experience must have been performing skilled heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration trades.
Note: For State Employees, this is interpreted at the level of Skilled Maintainer or Transportation Maintainer 2.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
Graduation from a vocational or technical school with a diploma designating completion of subject requirements in a maintenance trade area may be substituted for two (2) years of General Experience.
At the University of Connecticut: Satisfactory performance and completion of the UConn Facilities Internship Training Program may be substituted for the General and Special Experience as determined by UConn Facilities Operations and Human Resources Management.
At other State Agencies: Two (2) years of experience as a Qualified Craft Worker Intern in a designated maintenance trade area may be substituted for the General and Special Experience.
Experience performing technical duties within the HVACR trade area on a military base, aircraft carrier, or large compound may be substituted for General and Special Experience on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
An active S-2 or S-1 license.
Extensive knowledge and experience in the heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration trade.
Current “universal” certificate for refrigerant transition and recovery.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class are required to possess and retain appropriate current licenses, permits, and/or certifications including possession and retention of a State of Connecticut heating, piping, and/or cooling license.

* Completing developmental books tracking each child's development. Distributing the Ages and Stages Questionnaire to assigned primary care parents.
* Collecting and score said ASQ's using the data to identify any red flags in normal growth and development quarterly or semiannually depending on the age of the child.
* Meeting with parents quarterly or semi-annually to discuss developmental assessments.
* Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with children daily by engaging in intentional play and actions.
* Developing each child's executive function to allow children to manage their thoughts, emotions, and behavior as they pursue goals daily. These include attention, working memory, self- regulation, reasoning, problem solving and approaches to learning.
* Documenting formative assessments daily that is used to measure progress towards goals in which educators monitor children's learning to inform and modify real time instruction to improve learning outcomes.

* Maintaining annual professional qualifications registration with DEEC. Complete 20 hours of professional development annually with a 25% focus on special needs.
* Attending monthly staff meetings in accordance with DEEC regulations. Completing mandatory Background record check every 3 years including CORI, SORI, DCF, and fingerprinting.
* Communicating daily with parents reporting about each individual child's day through written daily notes and spoken words (Infant - Preschool). Complete weekly classroom reports to be shared to parents in weekly newsletters (Preschool).
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree
* 3 -5 year's of professional teaching experience with infants, toddlers and preschoolers required.
Certification:

Day to Day
Our WORKS Fellow is responsible for supporting several successful programs, while also supporting all initiatives delivered by the foundation. Position Description:
Assistants are expected to help the Program Site Coordinator with the management of the children and the implementation of the Coordinator's plans. In addition, Assistants will be required to work all Early Release Day Programs, Vacation Day Programs, and Professional Day Programs, when the Program falls on their regularly scheduled days.
Responsibilities:
* Arrive promptly at the after-school site and to monthly meetings.
* Be vigilant about the safety of the children in the Extended Day Program.
* Know the rules of the Extended Day Program and take on an active role in seeing that they are followed. (Rules specific to EDP Assistants: No cell phone use unless contacting parent Cell phones should be out of sight. Also no socializing with other EDP Assistants during program hours.)
* Be mindful of the fact that each child is an individual and should be approached as such.
* Develop positive relationships with the children and be a positive role model for them.
* Assist the Program Site Coordinator with daily planned activities (arts & crafts, science, sports, etc.).
* Spontaneously engage children in activities like board games, card games, puzzles, etc.
* Circulate during homework time to make sure students are on task and to offer assistance when necessary.
* Use equipment and supplies conscientiously.
* Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
* Develop positive relationships with parents, program staff, and school staff when possible.
* Perform related duties as assigned by the Program Site Coordinator.
Qualifications:
* Be at least 14 years of age.
* Previous experience working with children ages 5-12 is required (e.g. coaching, babysitting, camp counselor, etc.)
