In the last two decades, we have become a trusted source of high quality vines and service to grape growers from Maine to Montana. Every year we prepare, plant, care for, harvest, process, sell and ship bare root grapevines that are grown here. Our vines are shipped to customers around the U.S., we are not a retail nursery. To supply our nursery with cuttings, we maintain about 8 acres of vineyard. Additionally, wine grapes are custom grown for a VT winery and table grapes are grown in hi tunnels for the local market. This is truly a unique farm business in New England.
We are hiring for 2 vineyard worker positions for the period of May 2022 to late August 2022. Full time year round work is also possible after the initial time period. There is potential for quick upward mobility and increased wages for the right people. Benefits are acquired with time including paid sick leave, paid vacation, bonuses, and retirement contribution.
Previous vineyard, nursery, or farm work is preferred but not required.
All work is outside in our vineyard and the candidate must be prepared to work in various weather conditions. Vineyard and nursery work takes place from the ground level up to 7'.
We do not work in heavy rain. Work includes but is not limited to:
-Hand weeding.
-Shoot thinning and vine tying.
-Moving trellis wires and positioning vine shoots.
-Crop adjustment and thinning.
-Leaf pulling to expose fruit.
-Installation of bird netting.
-Planting and thinning the grapevine nursery.
All work is done as part of a small crew but is occasionally solo. A high level of attention to detail and the ability to learn and repeat new tasks is critical. As is maintaining a positive attitude and an effective pace.

Work with staff on filing all activities (activity binders)
Provide active engagement, routine health and personal care support (i.e. eating, toileting, and exercising) and assistance with daily activities
Utilize positive, uplifting and encouraging communication with all clients and staff
Assist program staff in implementation of daily activities and individual program plans
Ensure equipment and environment is clean, safe and functioning.
Clean up facility as part of closing every day.
