· Maintain the flow of the Cycle of Service in accordance to position. Provide Client Education regarding preventive care, Optimum Wellness Plans, and basic status of hospitalized pets. Serve as support to the Client Services Coordinator staff on an as-needed basis.
· Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
· Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests (e.g. canine heartworm, feline leukemia, FIV, and canine parvovirus) as allowed by state rules and regulations.
· Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients. Ensure the comfort of hospitalized patients by "walking", exercising, feeding, and cleaning cages and pet (when approved by the veterinarian or veterinary technician).

The Extended Day Program provides a safe, nurturing environment after school for children in PreK through Grade 5 from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM daily. Activities are provided that challenge each child to explore, discover, create, and grow.
Responsibilities:
Provide support to one or more groups in preparing materials for activities, setting up/cleaning up activities, and assisting lead teachers as needed.
Engage and interact appropriately with students, support age-appropriate expectations, and work with program leaders to support and include all students by meeting and supporting students' individual strengths and needs.
Actively participate in the care and supervision of students during the entire duration of the shift.

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island. We have full time positions or part time positions (with flexible schedules available). Benefits vary for full time / part time positions.
Requirements

Position Description:
Assistants are expected to help the Program Site Coordinator with the management of the children and the implementation of the Coordinator's plans. In addition, Assistants will be required to work all Early Release Day Programs, Vacation Day Programs, and Professional Day Programs, when the Program falls on their regularly scheduled days.
Responsibilities:
* Arrive promptly at the after-school site and to monthly meetings.
* Be vigilant about the safety of the children in the Extended Day Program.
* Know the rules of the Extended Day Program and take on an active role in seeing that they are followed. (Rules specific to EDP Assistants: No cell phone use unless contacting parent Cell phones should be out of sight. Also no socializing with other EDP Assistants during program hours.)
* Be mindful of the fact that each child is an individual and should be approached as such.
* Develop positive relationships with the children and be a positive role model for them.
* Assist the Program Site Coordinator with daily planned activities (arts & crafts, science, sports, etc.).
* Spontaneously engage children in activities like board games, card games, puzzles, etc.
* Circulate during homework time to make sure students are on task and to offer assistance when necessary.
* Use equipment and supplies conscientiously.
* Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
* Develop positive relationships with parents, program staff, and school staff when possible.
* Perform related duties as assigned by the Program Site Coordinator.
Qualifications:
* Be at least 14 years of age.
* Previous experience working with children ages 5-12 is required (e.g. coaching, babysitting, camp counselor, etc.)
