Qualifications: o Child Development Associate (CDA); OR o Associate degree (or higher) in any subject area; OR o Completion of at least 60 credit hours in any subject area; OR o State-awarded certificate comparable to a CDA that is approved by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE); OR o High school diploma or equivalent, provided the individual earns a CDA within two years of their initial date of hire as an assistant teacher at a child development center. o Previous experience working with children, particularly in a daycare or preschool setting. o Strong understanding of child development principles. o Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. o Ability to work cooperatively with both children and adults. o CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain. o Must pass a background check and health screening.
