The ideal candidate has experience working with children and enjoys creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment for young visitors. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring the Kid Zone child watch areas at the Recreation Center and providing short-term child watch services. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Recreation Center Customer Service Supervisor, the Child Watch Attendant ensures the safety, well-being, and enrichment of children while in the care of Kid Zone staff. This role includes supervising children, implementing age-appropriate activities, and enforcing child watch policies. Schedule * This position requires availability for mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. * We are currently looking for candidates with the following availability: * 8:00AM to 12:15PM, Monday through Saturday. This position will work between 8 and 20 hours per week. Key Responsibilities * Maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times. * Plan and implement age-appropriate activities such as games, arts and crafts, and sports. * Enforce all child watch policies, rules, and facility guidelines. * Ensure a clean and safe environment in the Kid Zone area. * Follow and enforce behavior management policies when necessary. * Complete required paperwork for child sign-in/sign-out, accidents, and incidents. * Assist with front desk operations, facility rentals, and special events as needed. Qualifications * Minimum: * Must be at least 16 years old at the time of employment. * Previous experience working with children professionally or through volunteer work. * Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within three months of hire. * Preferred: * Two years of experience in childcare, youth programming, arts and crafts, or sports and athletics. * Experience in teaching or previous child watch services. Starting rate of pay is $15.50 per hour. Environment and Physical Factors: This position requires physical activity, strength, and stamina to supervise and play with children. Attendants must be able to stand for long periods, lift and carry infants, and actively engage with children on the floor or in play areas. Work is performed in a busy Recreation Center environment and requires visual acuity to ensure child safety. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. Required Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma and 0-3 years of related experience. Required certifications and pre-employment verifications: Active Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Health Assessment and TB Test, Child Development, Signs and Symptoms of Illness, Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporting, Fingerprint Based Background Check.
