Cheyenne Village, Inc. Host Home Providers are independent contractors that have the satisfaction of owning their own business while making a difference in the life of an individual who is intellectual & developmentally disabled. We are searching for Host Home provider(s) with or without a wheelchair accessible home who would like to work with an IDD adult. Experience with individuals who have suffered a brain injury is helpful. The Host Home will provide daily supervision, medication administration, meal preparation, and community activities. Individuals will require assistance with personal hygiene and lifting and transferring. With the support of the Cheyenne Village team, you will become a trusted Host Home Provider and advocate to a disabled adult.
Host Home providers must be 21 years of age or older.
Host Home Providers are Independent Contractors. As a contractor, you can earn between $3,344 - $6,543 per month.

What Your Days Will be Like:
As a Caregiver within our Care for Business team, you will have the opportunity to care for children of multiple families in your area! You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the children under your care. Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, facilitates direct contact with parents: by discussions at arrival and departure times, written communications, telephone calls, and parent teacher conferences. Interactions include dealing with the needs of ill children or children with behavioral problems; deciding when and how to use appropriate guidance techniques; and communicating with parents to help them understand their child's behavior and to take remedial or supportive actions within the home.
**_Student Safety_**
Inspects, makes decision about, and communicates to Lead Teacher or the director, the condition of indoor/outdoor materials and equipment, teaching safety precautions and rules and regulations to classroom student assistants and children. Assuring a safe and stimulating outdoor environment by selecting equipment to be used on playground, enforcing playground rules, initiating games and outside activities, i.e. sand play, water play, supervising student assistants.
**_Development and Learning_**
Assures continual professional growth by attending staff in-services, workshops, and conferences. Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling, working with different teams, and handling a variety of situations. Completes annual requirement of 15 hours training.
**What You Should Know**
+ These are on-call positions and do not have a set work schedule. The work schedule will vary based on center needs Monday through Friday 7:30-5:30 pm.
+ These positions are needed twelve months out of the year, and candidates must be available to work full days when called in.

An Associate's degree (60 semester credit hours) from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, which must include at least two, three-semester credit hour courses in either: Introduction to Early Childhood Professions; or Early Childhood Guidance Strategies for Children, or has been issued a Colorado Pyramid Model Training certificate of completion.
4. A current professional teaching license issued by the Colorado Department of Education with an Endorsement in the area of Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Early Childhood Special Education Specialist.
5. A current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II or higher in Version 3.0 as determined by the Department.
6. A current certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) in: Center Based, Preschool; Center-Based, Infant-Toddler; or Family Child Care; or other Department-approved credential.
7. Completion of a course of training approved by the Department and published on the Department's approval list; and nine months (1,365 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children less than eight years of age who are not related to the individual.
8. Three months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children less than eight years of age who are not related to the individual; and the completion of 18-semester credit hours from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, with one course as: Introduction to Early Childhood Professions; or Early Childhood Guidance Strategies for Children, or has been issued a Colorado Pyramid Model Training certificate of completion.
9. Twenty-one months (3,185 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children less than eight years of age who are not related to the individual. Satisfactory experience includes being a licensee of a Colorado Family Child Care Home, a Teacher's Aide or Teacher in a childcare center, preschool, or elementary school. In addition, the individual must either: Possess a current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level I or higher in Version 3.0 as determined by the Department; or, Complete two three-semester credit hour courses from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education with one course as: Introduction To Early Childhood Professions or Early Childhood Guidance Strategies for Children, has been issued the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, or has been issued a Colorado Pyramid Model Training certificate of completion.
_NOTE: All course grades used for the Early Childhood Teacher requirements must be a "C" or better._
In addition to any of the above options, applicants can also qualify by meeting any of the below combinations of education and experience:
1. A registered nurse, licensed to practice in Colorado, with a minimum of six months of experience in the care of infants and/or toddlers.
2. Current certificate in infant and toddler care from an accredited college or university with completion of at least thirty semester hours in such courses as child growth and development, nutrition, and care practices with children birth to three years of age.
3. A licensed practical nurse with at least twelve months of verifiable experience in the care of children less than three years of age.
4. An Assistant Teacher who is working in an infant nursery must have six months of experience in the care of infants and toddlers (which may include parenting experience).

How You'll Help
The Community Navigator Specialist, Child Care assists Mile High United Way in providing the most accessible and highest quality comprehensive customer service and screening services to our local community. This position works within an inbound/outbound contact center, accurately collecting client information and demographics, and assisting clients and identifying community resources within health and human services. In doing so, the Community Navigator Specialist, Child Care acts in a support capacity for the 2-1-1 Contact Center team by ensuring effective, timely and quality communication reflecting care and concern for each community member they serve.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for providing clients needed information and resources via phone, text, chat, email and face to face conversations.
Collect client information and demographics as defined by department standards to accurately assess eligibility of resources.

Engage with agency partners to support the needs of clients and community members.

What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's Degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) bilingual preferred (use of a bilingual skill on a continuing basis averaging ninety percent 90% of the time in a "designated" bilingual position.)
2 years of relevant experience preferred working in a Contact Center or Human Services related field providing Customer Service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Plays, interacts with and supervises play activities of children. Ensures the safety of the children during play activities
* Checks children in and out of the facility to the proper guardian
* Determines applicability of grace period and appropriate charges for care. Collects payment
* Cleans the classroom and disinfects toys and other frequently handled objects
* Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
Experience: Experience in childcare and customer service preferred
Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
* CPR and First Aid Certifications are required; or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire (which can be obtained at the Recreation Center)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Skill in performing CPR and First Aid
* Skill in caring for children and responding to their needs
* Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with established Town policies and procedures
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, supervisor and coworkers
Physical Demands:
* Physical ability to lift and hold children
