Maintains the safety of the Adolescent Care Center facility and residents, including routine security checks and searches Monitors for suicidal or combative residents and provides crisis intervention as required Completes accurate daily activity logs and records regarding resident behavior, actions, medications, and activities Coordinates, assigns, and/or provides for the daily needs of residents, such as meal service, laundry service, and medication administration Organizes and participates in daily recreation activities geared towards residents Schedules, assigns, and/or performs general housekeeping duties and supervises chores assigned to residents Administers disciplinary action to residents as established by policy Transports residents to court and other appointments as assigned Attends required trainings, such as First Aid, CPR, and Mental Health First Aid Assists with visitation arrangements and monitors resident telephone calls as needed Liaises with law enforcement, caseworkers, court personnel, medical providers, schools, parents, and outside agencies regarding resident matters Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, and regulations governing the delivery of services to at-risk youth and assists staff in monitoring for compliance Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code Typical Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Must be at least 21 years old Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver's License or equivalent Must pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening Must provide 24/7 emergency on-call assistance as needed Occasional extended shifts (up to 24 hours) based on department needs Potential exposure to chemical cleaners, infectious diseases, and violent or rude/irate persons Special Working Conditions: Must provide 24/7 emergency on-call assistance as needed Occasional extended shifts (up to 24 hours) based on department needs Potential exposure to chemical cleaners, infectious diseases, and violent or rude/irate persons Compensation: Pay rate starts at $21.89/hour and is based on qualifications and experience. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements. Maintains all department specific required certifications. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Iowa: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained.
