POSITION SUMMARY:
The overnight child care worker is responsible for the safety and supervision of the children during these critical overnight and early morning hours. This counselor must remain awake, and is responsible to ensure the students are safe at all times and comfortable throughout the night.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to all needs of the students throughout the night and morning hours, including but not limited to supervision, support, crisis intervention, and behavior management.
Conduct child checks at least 4 times each hour; more frequently when identified as at risk for self-harm or running away.
Follow all special instruction related to individual students. (Example: sit outside door until child falls asleep; wake child during the night to prevent bedwetting).
Assist day staff with morning routine, waking children, supervising breakfast, and ensuring proper hygiene practices.
Complete students daily logs.
Ensure any concerns are appropriately communicated to all agency personnel including high-risk behaviors.
May be delegated and trained to conduct medication administration or certain medical procedure responsibilities for students.
Some lifting and restraints may be required when working with young students or students with special needs, however, TLC embraces and celebrates a spirit of inclusion and diversity, and reasonable accommodations and modifications will be made whenever possible. The diversity of our student population may require that some assignments have a heavier physical responsibility due to safety.

* Maintaining annual professional qualifications registration with DEEC. Complete 20 hours of professional development annually with a 25% focus on special needs.
* Attending monthly staff meetings in accordance with DEEC regulations. Completing mandatory Background record check every 3 years including CORI, SORI, DCF, and fingerprinting.
* Communicating daily with parents reporting about each individual child's day through written daily notes and spoken words (Infant - Preschool). Complete weekly classroom reports to be shared to parents in weekly newsletters (Preschool).

ABACUS after school program
Hours: 2:00/2:30/3:00 until 6:00
Assist in guiding students in afterschool routine
Guiding students in positive social/emotioanl envirnoment
Implementing PBIS structure
Assisting with daily activities
Assist with set up and clean up duties
Participate in monthly staff meetings
Complete yearly professional development
CPR/First Aid Certification
