Job Description
The Behavioral & Mental Health Therapist I will participate in a model of care centered around integrated, multidisciplinary services, with seamless collaborations with psychiatry, psychology, social work, medical specialties, and other behavioral and mental health disciplines.
The Supportive Care Clinic is expanding and actively seeking a licensed clinical social worker or licensed professional counselor for the role of Behavioral Mental Health (BMH) therapist as well as to act as the interdisciplinary psychosocial clinician in Supportive Care Clinic, an outpatient palliative oncology clinic for children with cancer and their families who sustain significant challenges to their quality of life. The BMH therapist will provide evidence based individual and group therapy focused on a broad range of conditions, including anxiety, mood disorders, physical and somatic conditions. In addition, the therapist will conduct interdisciplinary visits with other members of the Supportive Care team (MD, NP, psychologist). All patients are referred internally from Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center providers, and all have a life-threatening or life-limiting illness. Appointments will be a mixture of in-person and telehealth. The focus is on physical, emotional, social, and existential suffering, family coping, sibling challenges, anticipatory grief, end-of-life, hospice coordination, and bereavement. The Behavioral & Mental Health Therapist I will work closely with Supportive Care psychologist, other Aflac psychologists and social workers, the outpatient and inpatient interdisciplinary palliative care team, psychiatry, chaplains and family support team members to develop and implement a comprehensive treatment and care coordination plan for each patient.
Experience
* 3 years supervised experience with providing intake evaluations and regularly scheduled therapy services for children and adolescents within a medical setting or behavioral mental health facility
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Unified protocol, CBT, ACT, DBT, TF-CBT, PCIT, and/or Solution-Focused Therapy
* Experience with children & adolescents with co-occurring medical issues
Education
* Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited university
Certification Summary
* An unrestricted license in the state of Georgia (LCSW, LMFT, LPC)
* For Children's at Hughes Spalding, LCSW certification is required

Job Responsibilities
Patient Care
* Provide evidence-based and effective delivery of services (e.g., assessments, consultation, and therapy) appropriate to the patient's specific needs and severity level of disability or impairment, and make referrals as needed.
* Gather and integrate information from all available sources, including client self-reports, reports from family members, guardian(s), documented medical records, treatment history, etc.
* Conduct crisis and safety planning with patients and coordinate transfers to higher levels of care as needed.
* Maintain a therapeutic relationship with patient and family.
* Respect and incorporate aspects of patient's and family's identity in care.
* Include family/caregiver participation in all phases of the patient's program while communicating at the patient/family level of understanding.

* Bill appropriately for services in accordance with regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
* Participate in team meetings and case consultations (as needed).
* Seek additional evidence-based training associated with role.

Job Description
Provides system leadership and supervision to the BMH specialists. Works closely with ED SW team and leadership team to provide close alignment with processes and SOP's. Facilitates and manages ongoing department operations, including quality, service, fiscal, and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that patients presenting to an Emergency Department are provided with comprehensive psychiatric social work services including psychiatric and child protection assessment. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
* Three years of experience in postgraduate clinical or social work setting
* Supervised clinical hours served in order to be licensed
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health
* Experience in a medical inpatient/emergency department setting working with pediatric and adolescent patient populations
* Experience with behavioral mental health (BMH) facilities and placement procedures
Education
* Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited graduate school

Job Responsibilities
* Provides direct patient care in comprehensive psychiatric assessments and discharge planning for patients presenting in a behavioral and mental health crisis in the Emergency Department or other practice settings.
* Collaborates with Emergency Department staff and Psychiatry to provide support for determination of appropriate discharge disposition.
* During psychiatric assessments, completes 1013's to authorize transportation to an inpatient acute psychiatric facility for patients requiring involuntary treatment.
* Provides support to Care Coordination Assistants (CCA's) throughout discharge/placement process.
* Shares information and collaborates with Behavioral and Mental Health team members to ensure quality care coordination.
* Connect patients and families to outpatient behavioral and mental health resources as appropriate.
* Assists families in accessing resources to achieve and/or maintain stabilization and self-sufficiency.
* Assesses patients and families for safety, abuse, and neglect concerns.
* Serves as the mandated reporter for the Emergency Department to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services.
* Assists with onboarding and training of new hires.
* Participate in mandatory team huddles and team meetings.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Acknowledges and appropriately prioritizes referrals from interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families, with initial chart documentation entered within eight business hours of receipt of consult. Attends and actively participates in Trials and interdisciplinary team meetings in order to screen for high risk patients, obtain and share information, identify appropriate length of stay per DRG, advance the patient's plan of care, identify and take action to resolve barriers and to coordinate safe and appropriate discharge to the proper level of care within the appropriate time frame. Maintains focus on the provision of quality service in a rapid and efficient manner in order to transition patients to the appropriate level of care within the time frame of the target length of stay. Updates the clinical team regarding discharge destination, and date and time of anticipated discharge. Attends and actively participates in Triad Data Meetings and Team Meetings in order to identify and address system trends and barriers to the delivery of efficient patient care. Collaborates with insurance case managers and community care providers, and initiates referrals to appropriate community resources. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and private payer regulations and processes. Maintains broad knowledge of resources and options for patients available within all levels of care including facilitates efficient access and movement of patient across levels of care, and coordinates inter-facility transfer of patients to appropriate level of care. Ensures that a safe and timely discharge is attained, with proper documentation and verbal reports shared with receiving facilities or agencies. Experience

The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics invites interested applicants for a faculty level position in pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation. The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center provides a rich and collaborative environment for basic, clinical, and translational research and boasts a diverse faculty. The Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program is one of the largest pediatric BMT programs in the country, performing more than 80 lifesaving BMTs in 2024. The BMT program is an integral component of the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, and currently includes 12 faculty members, with a broad range of basic, clinical and translational research.
Qualified candidates should be Board Certified/Eligible Hematologist/Oncologists, and preference will be given to applicants who wish to continue a career focused on clinical care in transplantation and cellular therapy. This is a clinical position, and research commitment is flexible depending on the candidate's qualifications. Rank of assistant or associate professor will depend on experience and accomplishments.

The successful candidate will join one of the strongest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the country.

+ Each year our team cares for more than 170 newly diagnosed leukemia and lymphoma patients using a variety of treatment protocols, including blood and marrow transplant (BMT), hematopoietic stem cell transplant, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T therapy, and Phase I and II clinical trials for patients whose cancer has relapsed or is not responding to treatment
+ The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center has over 130 faculty and nearly 50 Advance Practice Providers (APPs), conducting basic, translational, cooperative group and investigator-initiated clinical research related to pediatric oncology and hematology disorders, with expertise in leukemias, lymphomas, brain tumors, neuroblastoma, sarcomas, rare tumors, renal tumors, CAR T-cell therapies, cancer survivorship, health services research, hemoglobinopathies and hemophilia.
+ More than 9,000 children with cancer and blood disorders are treated annually at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center

JOB DESCRIPTION: Acknowledges and appropriately prioritizes referrals from interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families, with initial chart documentation entered within eight business hours of receipt of consult. Attends and actively participates in Trials and interdisciplinary team meetings in order to screen for high risk patients, obtain and share information, identify appropriate length of stay per DRG, advance the patient's plan of care, identify and take action to resolve barriers and to coordinate safe and appropriate discharge to the proper level of care within the appropriate time frame. Maintains focus on the provision of quality service in a rapid and efficient manner in order to transition patients to the appropriate level of care within the time frame of the target length of stay. Updates the clinical team regarding discharge destination, and date and time of anticipated discharge. Attends and actively participates in Triad Data Meetings and Team Meetings in order to identify and address system trends and barriers to the delivery of efficient patient care. Collaborates with insurance case managers and community care providers, and initiates referrals to appropriate community resources. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and private payer regulations and processes. Maintains broad knowledge of resources and options for patients available within all levels of care including facilitates efficient access and movement of patient across levels of care, and coordinates inter-facility transfer of patients to appropriate level of care. Ensures that a safe and timely discharge is attained, with proper documentation and verbal reports shared with receiving facilities or agencies. Respects the confidentiality of all patient information and conforms to hospital/departmental policies on the handling and disclosure of patient information. Acts as a responsible steward of department's patient care funds, exploring all viable options prior to requesting use of funds. The Marcus Autism Center is seeking an academic clinical psychologist for a leadership position in clinical research operations.
The Marcus Autism Center is one of the largest academic health centers in the US serving children with autism and related neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families, with a strong commitment to health equity. It is also a hub for research with a portfolio ranging from functional genomics to behavioral neuroscience, early brain development, clinical
trials and implementation science. We are recruiting for a leadership position for our Clinical Assessment Core, which serves as the clinical nexus for the entire research enterprise.
The Marcus Autism Center is the Division of Autism & Developmental Health at Emory University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, which centralizes clinical care and science in autism and developmental social neuroscience at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). The selected clinician will be a core faculty member in the Department
of Pediatrics at a rank commensurate with the candidate's academic achievements.
We are looking for a leading clinician committed to the highest level of excellence in clinical characterization for research, who has expertise in standardized developmental, cognitive and diagnostic procedures. Clinical experience with young children is highly desirable. This clinician will work closely with Dr. Cheryl Klaiman, Director of Clinical Research Operations, and will collaborate closely with Dr. Warren Jones, Director of
Research, and Dr. Ami Klin, Director of the Center and Division Chief.
The Marcus Autism Center has wide-ranging research and training collaborations with other divisions and scientific programs at Emory and CHOA, including the Behavioral & Mental Health Center led by Dr. John Constantino and the Center for Neuroscience Research led by Dr. Timothy Gershon, as well as with Emory's Department of Human
Genetics led by Dr. Peng Jin and Emory's School of Public Health led by Dr. Daniele Fallin. Collaborations also extend to community-based and state agencies such as EasterSeals, Jewish Federation, Atlanta Public Schools, LaAmistad, and GA Departments of Public Health, Early Care & Learning, and Behavioral Health.
Oversees and develops assessments and/or treatments for specialty pediatric population. Assists with translation of findings into therapeutic approaches which can be utilized by a transdisciplinary or interdisciplinary team. Assumes a supervisory role in the department and helps to design and coordinate research, training, and clinical practice with specific and measurable performance goals. Cooperates and collaborates with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to meet the total needs of the patient and family. Counsels and educates families. Assists with the coordination of a clinical database and promotes research. Assists in the development of policies and procedures that ensure the highest quality of care for patients within the scope of practice and established standards for psychologists.
Experience
