SUMMARY Responsible for providing academic instruction to children in a year-round partial hospitalization school setting. The Teacher may be called upon to provide therapeutic interventions at any time. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Implements all academic components within the classroom to include following the specified curriculum and benchmarks as set forth by St. Vincent Family Center. Communicates with parents, on an as needed basis, regarding student/client academic concerns. Tracks absences and tardiness of students/client. Completes and disseminates grade cards four (4) times per year. Conducts a minimum of two (2) Parent-Teacher conferences during the school year. Makes recommendations to the psychologist regarding further student/client testing (i.e. if the child needs an IEP). Collect data and documentation then communicates as an active member of the treatment team. Attend development classes as requested by supervisors. Assists the Adaptive Behavioral Specialist with mental health interventions, as needed. Implements and uses trauma informed care services. Implements Collaborative Problem-Solving strategies. Is sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the children and families served. Performs general office duties to include, filing, copying, faxing and customer service. Other duties as assigned or requested. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in education or related field is required. Masters in Special Education is preferred. Current licensure to teach preferred. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Ability to complete crisis intervention training and successfully pass course for certification and perform techniques to a satisfactory level. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May experience loud, verbal displays of outbursts from potentially distressed children seeking treatment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Building temperature may vary during each season and the work environment may be unseasonably cold or warm during the year.

We serve children and families in eight locations in Cuyahoga County. All of our sites are 5-Star Highly-Rated by the State of Ohio's Step Up to Quality program. What You Will Do: Create and deliver high-quality educational experiences utilizing the Creative Curriculum to children 6 weeks to 5 years old while ensuring the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of children at all times. Actively supervise children at all times and engage in children's play in all areas of the classroom and all parts of the curriculum including floor play, outdoor/gross motor and music/movement activities.
