About the position: We have Special Education Teacher positions open in both our Kiefer School and Academy for Autism. Kiefer School provides special education for children who experience difficulty in their home school due to severe emotional, behavioral and/or learning challenges. The goal is to improve a child's ability to function within the public school setting by providing intensive intervention in small classrooms and a range of treatment and support services to the student and their family. Kiefer is an AdvancEd accredited, ISBE-approved private school. Our Academy for Autism serves students ages 5-22 with an educational or medical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through intervention with ISBE licensed educators and teacher assistants in each classroom and small class sizes, our students are able to find their pathway to success using innovative tools and techniques geared towards those with Autism. A Special Education Teacher provides academic and behavioral instruction to students on a daily basis in a classroom of up to 10 students. They play a critical role in that they carry out the IEP requirements for each student in their daily programming. They are the main change agent for students' academic and behavioral growth and serve as a role model. A Special Education Teacher must not only provide for the academic needs of students, but also for the social skill and behavioral needs as well.Our schools operate on a traditional calendar from August through May. Both schools operate a 30 instructional day summer program. Job Function: Evaluates and improves each child's academic and behavioral functioning, establishes and carries out the IEP by implementing daily programming, involves parents as active treatment participants, and maintains professional boundaries and demeanor. Qualifications: Minimum BA/BS in education with LBS I/II certification or approval by the Illinois State Board Education. Two years' experience preferred. Experience with children exposed to trauma. Ability to relate effectively to children and their parents. Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in students, staff and families served. Effective written and oral communications. Ability to work independently and within a treatment team. Ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner. Ability to use computer technology. Hearing and speaking ability which allow for effective oral communication of information. Ability to transport self and students to various locations. Physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related problems and stress. Knowledge of childhood trauma. About the position: This position is a direct service role that works directly with children in our care. Youth Engagement Specialists are responsible for helping children accomplish day to day tasks, make progress toward their behavior treatment goals, and working alongside a clinical team of therapists and behavior specialists to ensure kids are progressing through our treatment program. Job Function: The ideal candidate for the position of Youth Engagement Specialist is someone who displays an intense passion for helping children and young adults reach their full potential. About the position: The Maternal and Child Health nurse provides home visiting services to families living in Peoria county. The home visits include perinatal health assessments, family case management, and coordination of medical and social services. Respond to client needs through flexible scheduling of home visits. Apply effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills to manage a caseload. Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of interactions with families in compliance with program and Board of Nursing guidelines. Complete other duties assigned to support the Maternal and Child Nursing program such as community engagement activities and educational presentations. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work with culturally diverse populations. Proficient with laptops, electronic health records, and Microsoft Office applications. About the position: A Behavioral Health Therapist provides direct community-based clinical services to clients and families residing in the Tri-County area. A Behavioral Health Therapist positively represents the program and agency at internal and external groups/meetings. In addition to providing therapy, a Behavioral Health Therapist provides advocacy, parent education, skill-building, crisis intervention, and case management services to meet the client and family needs. About Position: The role of Program Coordinator exists to ensure youth in care receive services in an environment that is least restrictive and enhances the acquisition, improvement and retention of educational and life skills during their time at Residential, Group Home and SILP programs. A Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program. About the position: A Behavioral Health Therapist provides direct community-based clinical services to clients and families residing in the Tri-County area. A Behavioral Health Therapist positively represents the program and agency at internal and external groups/meetings. About the Position: The Bilingual Family Support Specialist provides support and education to families with young children to provide a range of culturally competent home-based services to meet them where they are. We help first- and second-time parents get ready to welcome a baby into their lives and continue to support and encourage these new families over the baby's first three years.
