Overview
Position Summary: The Language and Cultural Specialist II under general supervision, provide interpreting services in a culturally sensitive manner to facilitate communication and the relaying of medical information between speakers of different languages at CHLA; and provide written translations as required in patient encounters such as translation of medical instructions and medication schedules, and any hospital related administrative correspondence with patients/families, including information, education and documentation materials. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Complies with applicable office and hospital policies and procedures particularly relating to patient confidentiality and informed consent. Also assists department with on-the-job training and orientation of new staff interpreters.
Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years' experience interpreting and translating in a healthcare setting, including experience working with the community and/or a target language population with a diversity of cultural/socio-economic backgrounds. Competency in written and verbal communication skills in English and the designated foreign language. Ability to translate and interpret medical terminology. Experience interpreting and translating with patients at a full range of developmental and educational levels.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline preferred.
Completion of a minimum of 40 hour Healthcare Interpreter training.
For spoken language interpreters: Healthcare Interpreter National Certification or highest national credentialing (where applicable by language) through CCHI or a national organization.
For ASL interpreters: ASL Interpreter Certification through a state or national organization. Translator Certification (where applicable by language) through ATA.

Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: Responsible for leading and providing a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where infants, toddlers and preschool children. Creates the opportunity for children to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Master Teacher develops and implements daily lesson plans for early childhood education classrooms, leads and supervises infant, toddler and preschool teachers in curriculum, classroom environment, and parent relationships. Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Kuo Lab at CHLA is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our research program as an Associate Research Specialist. The ideal candidate should be able to follow protocols accurately, maintain meticulous records, and effectively present data and results to the research team. This role also offers the opportunity to learn and apply techniques and methods essential to molecular biology and cancer biology studies. The Associate Research Specialist will perform basic molecular biology work, including but not limited to DNA extraction/isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, sequencing prep, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, protein extraction/quantification, enzyme assays, cell culture, and microscopy/imaging. The specialist will also receive training in the use of zebrafish models.
The Kuo lab focuses on the tumor immune microenvironment of Ewing sarcoma. We are particularly interested in the cross-talk and signaling networks between immune cells-especially tumor-associated macrophages-and cancer cells. To advance this work, we leverage a novel immunocompetent zebrafish genetic model of Ewing sarcoma (developed by Drs. Vasileva and Amatruda: PMID 35285802) and human Ewing sarcoma tumor samples to gain deeper insights into the tumor immune microenvironment.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Experience working in a laboratory environment required; Preferred 1+ years experience performing laboratory research. Proficient in word, excel, and powerpoint.
Prior experience working with animals in a research setting is highly valued, as is a background in molecular and cancer biology. Principal investigator is willing to provide training for those who may lack specific experience.
Education/Licensure/Certification: A Bachelors' degree, in a related scientific field (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry, engineering) Applicants must have completed their Bachelor's degree by their anticipated start date.

The primary responsibility of the Central Sterile Processing Technician is to prevent the growth and cross contamination of harmful microorganisms that will cause a negative effect for our patients, doctors, staff members, HPMC internal and external customers, and to themselves. This position accomplishes the primary responsibility by ensuring that all surgical instruments, scopes, power equipment, and sterilization containers are properly inventoried, decontaminated, inspected, assembled, packaged (containerized, wrapped, or peel packed), sterilized, and stored in the correct environment in a quality/time manner. Performs duties as a CSPD tech independently, works proficiently without constant supervision and when competent helps train new employees.
Identifies and uses appropriate methods and solutions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse, and disinfect instruments, scopes, surgical power tools, and clinical equipment.
Operates and troubleshoots cleaning equipment.
Appropriately handles garbage, linen, and bio-hazardous materials.
Maintains safety standards within the decontamination area.
Consistently uses recipes (count sheets) to correctly assemble, protect, wrap containerize and/or peel package and label instruments. Identifies and inspects instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
Knows and follows correct principles of sterilization. Selects appropriate sterilization methods.
Properly documents and verifies sterilization loads and biological tests to determine the efficacy of the sterilization process is required. Performing HLD (high level disinfection) is required (will train).score: N/A
Contacts BIOMED if sterilizers are not functioning properly, informs manager of CSPD, and surgery. If a steam sterilizer fails a leak test the autoclave is taken out of service, and biomed is notified.

Position Highlights:
The Environmental Services Specialty Technician's primary responsibility is disinfecting
Specialty areas such as Infusion Pharmacy, Sterile Processing, Operating Rooms, Procedure Rooms, Cell Therapy. As part of the Spill Response Team, deactivates and decontaminates chemotherapy and other hazardous agent spills. Responsible for reducing the spread of bacteria and infection as well as providing an environment that appears clean, fresh, and polished. This position performs a variety of duties that support the department in maintaining a clean environment for patients and staff, this includes cleaning/disinfecting other areas as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Clean spills containing blood or other potentially infectious material using established infection control, safety, and ES departmental procedures.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Polysomnography Tech I performs routine sleep testing procedures under supervision of a registered technologist in accordance with hospital clinical care policies and procedures. Provides patient preparation, monitoring, and documentation during studies. Supports department operations through the setup, calibration, and maintenance of sleep lab equipment and supplies. Employees in this role may come from non-respiratory backgrounds and are not responsible for managing ventilator-dependent patients. Employees will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

The Managed Care Contract Reimbursement Manager serves as the conduit for Managed Care payer related issues with the contracted third-party payers. This position is responsible for organizing, understanding, and managing the managed care contracts. These responsibilities will be achieved by creating and maintaining a database of all managed care contracts and associated insurance plans and understanding and interpreting the payer contract language and fee schedules. This position will oversee contract details and be knowledgeable about major provisions of agreements as they relate to day-to-day operations.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Social Services Casework is under the supervision of a Master's level social worker, providing specific services to patients and their families. The Caseworker will provide non-clinical, peer-to-peer support and guidance to families of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) or other complex newborn conditions requiring extended hospitalization and ongoing care. Drawing upon their personal "lived experience" as a primary caregiver of a child with complex health needs, this specialist will act as a mentor, advocate, and liaison, helping new families navigate the healthcare system, access resources, and cope with the emotional and practical challenges of their journey.

* Peer Support and Mentorship: Establish and maintain a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with families, sharing insights from personal experience to provide validation, hope, and emotional support.
