About the Job Renders physical therapy services to an assigned caseload of children at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Contributes to the advancement of Physical Therapy practice through education of staff therapists, interns and other health care providers when appropriate. What you will do * Clinical. * Examination: Able to perform examinations on individuals with complex medical, social, psychological issues after identifying necessary resources or learning needs. * Evaluation: Uses advances problem solving skills to care for complex cases based on available evidence. Seeks additional information as needed. * Diagnosis/Prognosis: Ability to identify subtle impairments and its impact on function and disability and develop a plan of care that integrates therapy into the lifestyle of the family. * Intervention: Provides advanced procedural, evidence based interventions with mentorship as needed on complex cases. Patient education is family centered by considering family lifestyle, environment, learning needs and collaborative goal setting. Documentation is thorough, complete and reflects integration of all areas of patient care. * Outcomes: Results of patient/client interaction include high level of patient/caregiver satisfaction, reduced risk for impairment, promotion of wellness, identification of internal resources. Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy will be accepted for individuals licensed previous to December 31, 2002. Inpatient plan includes recommendation to Phase II CPR as indicated. Outpatient CPRSs will see that progress toward goals at discharge is clearly and effectively communicated to patient and physician. + May conduct a variety of non-invasive cardiology testing including but not limited to 12 Lead EKGs, pacer clinics technical work, Holter monitoring hook ups and processing, and stress testing. + Graduate of an accredited Exercise Physiology or related program with a minimum bachelor's level preparation. + 1 year of Cardiopulmonary Rehab experience and ACSM Certification. + 60 hours of continuing education every 3 years required. + Active membership in professional organization(s) preferred Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: + BLS and ACLS or a willingness to acquire both is required. + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. A Brief Overview The Division of Orthopedic Surgery at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking an individual with an interest in joining our Orthopedic sports medicine team which includes orthopedic primary care sports medicine specialists, certified athletic trainers, advanced practice providers, nurses, and research coordinators. This role practices under the guidelines of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery in accordance with state regulations for ATC practice. Under the day-to-day supervision of the on-site supervising physician, this role provides care to well children with specific sports medicine injuries and appropriate musculoskeletal injuries. Clinical activities, under direct physician supervision, include providing care to children with appropriate musculoskeletal and sports related injuries, including concussion, and clinical research responsibilities including data collection. The individual will participate in clinical activities and participate in community programs and community outreach as designated by The Division of Orthopedic Surgery and consistent with their licensure and scope of practice. The successful applicant will have an interest in patient and parent education and injury prevention. The position will require a bright, responsible, creative, and highly motivated individual to provide care at the Main hospital in Philadelphia and other CHOP specialty care sites in Pennsylvania and New Jersey Virtua Voorhees and to initiate outreach activities as needed. About the position The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday. The primary location for this position is the Buerger Building on CHOP's Main campus with required travel to the Pennsylvania Specialty Care Center locations. The ideal candidate for this position wants to work in a clinical setting that is fast paced. Must be self-motivated, work well on a team but also be able to work autonomously. Must be well organized, a lifelong learner and is a critical thinker. What you will do * Assess the physically active person/athlete whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified athletic trainer; treat approved individuals in accordance with protocol.
