Due to our growth and high demand, we have an opening for an outpatient clinic-based counselor at our Boise clinic. Children's Therapy Place is a full-service outpatient pediatric therapy practice with locations in the Treasure Valley and Magic Valley. Our clinics provide speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, mentalhealth counseling, and behavioral and developmental support through our developmental disabilities agency.

What you'll do:
Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, helping them to develop insight into themselves or their relationships.
Collect information about clients through clinical interviews, observations and/or assessments.
Counsel clients or parents (guardians), individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
Guide clients in the developments of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans.
Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
Modify treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' status.
Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with or supporting clients.
Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs on clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
Plan, organize or lead structured programs of individual, family or group counseling for clients.
What you'll bring:
Master's degree with a LCSW, LPC or LCPC.
Licensed to work in the state of Idaho

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Project Director and Behavioral Health Lead Navigator in SAMHSA annual reports, continuation applications, etc. for Behavioral Health Department.
Assist Project Director and Behavioral Health Lead Navigator with integration of behavioral health services and communication between disciplines (psychiatrists, physicians, APRNs, LCSWs, LMHCs, etc.).
Attend weekly staff meetings, Behavioral Health Department meetings, and BMC general staff meetings.
Communicate effectively with supervisor regarding caseloads, issues regarding supervision, and leave requests.
Conduct street and community outreach during working hours, including some nights and weekends as needed.
Assist Project Director and Behavioral Health Lead Navigator in the creation, scheduling, and presentation of education sessions/groups for HIV, STD awareness, mentalhealth, Life Skills, substance use, and other BMC services.
Distribute preventive materials including safe sex kits, condoms, and flyers.
Educate target population, newly diagnosed HIV persons, and others about BMC's available services, treatment options, and assist with linkages to services.
Engage and educate individuals aged 13 and up in risk-reduction discussions.
Ensure all certifications required for your position remain active and that updated copies are submitted for your employee file.
Ensure data collection is completed in a timely, accurate and consistent manner, including HIV and STD testing, follow-up questionnaires, and others.
Make home visits and reach out to individuals that are high risk, hard to reach, and/or present an adherence problem to treatment.
Navigate coordination and expedite services and linkages to additional wrap around care.
Perform behavioral screenings and assessments including GPRA, questionnaire data, demographic data collection instruments, pre-post training assessments, and surveys of partners and staff.
Assist Project Director and Behavioral Health Lead Navigator in performing periodic review of performance measures to assess progress toward goals, inform program development, and enable fine-tuning of implementation strategies.
Present at internal departmental meetings and educate BMC staff about programs and services
Provide HIV, hepatitis, and STD testing and counseling.
Provide program with community referrals, providing name and location of available van and outreach sites.
Recruit participants for all Behavioral Health programs, HIV/hepatitis/STD testing, and prevention services.
Work with the Marketing Department to create campaigns and projects for social media.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Behavioral Health and/or Behavioral Health Program Managers.

Job Summary:
The role of a MentalHealth Intern is to assist the Axis licensed professionals in providing care and support to individuals with mentalhealth challenges. The interns work under supervision, gaining practical experience while completing their academic or training requirements. They are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. This role is ideal for psychology, counseling, or social work students aiming to gain hands-on experience in mentalhealth care.
Qualifications:
Must hold a master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field.
Must be a registered intern with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, the Board of Psychology, or currently enrolled in a Master's or Doctorate degree program working as a trainee or practicum student.
Must maintain a current registration or school enrollment in good standing and must notify supervisor of any disciplinary action, including suspension or probation.
Must possess a valid and current driver's license with reliable transportation, a clean driving record and automobile insurance is required with the ability to travel between sites as needed.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative treatment team.
Experience working in a school or clinic setting is a plus.
Empathy, professionalism, and a passion for mentalhealth care.
Familiarity with mentalhealth concepts, interventions, and ethical guidelines.
Experience or training in cultural sensitivity and working with clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide mentalhealth counseling in a school setting and/or in our Axis MentalHealth Counseling Clinic. May provide several types of counseling services to potentially include individual, group, family, couples, etc.
Will counsel individual from various cultural, ethnic, financial backgrounds, and will have the opportunity to work with children/teen, adults, and older adults.
Collaborate and consult with Axis licensed clinicians, medical doctors, case managers and other staff, as necessary.
Comply with the terms outlined in the Axis Intern Agreement and all related policies.
Collaborate care with the contacts at the schools and with parents as necessary/directed.
Complete necessary documentation, using an electronic health records system. Ensure charting and documentation is consistent with related laws, regulations, and Axis standards. Documentation includes appropriate Medi-Cal billing and is also overseen by the supervisor.
Participates in peer review of clients' charts as directed.
This position may last through the school year, with the potential to stay on during the summer, although as approved by supervisor, and at decreased hours.
Mandatory, weekly participation in one hour of individual supervision, two hours of group supervision, one hour of intern training seminar, and one-hour weekly team meeting with the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) staff.
Monitor client progress and document case notes accurately.
Provide crisis intervention support when needed.
Research and recommend community resources or support programs for clients.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in mentalhealth practice.
Drive to other sites and locations as needed to perform job duties or support organizational operations.
Participate in staff meetings, and attend other meetings and training events as assigned.
May be required to perform other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.
