Work on Individualized goals as outlined in the residents' Individualized Service Plan (ISP) REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Must be at least 18 years old. Must demonstrate behavioral skills and judgment conducive to role modeling appropriate skills for residents. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: Full Time, 36 hours per week. Midnight to 9AM, Tuesday - Friday. JOB DUTIES: Provide supervision of residents of group homes. Assist the residents with personal care, including, but not limited to, all or some of the following: bathing, grooming, fingernail/toenail care, and brushing teeth. Ensure residents take prescribed medications, including administering medications, as needed. Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence. Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own. Perform minimal maintenance duties as necessary (i.e.-plunging a toilet, changing a light bulb, etc.) Implement treatment as outlined in each resident's Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Transporting residents to activities as needed. The Recreation (Rec) Assistant is responsible for facilitating campus-wide therapeutic and structured recreational programming during residential shifts, as well as assisting in planning and preparing for special events and daily activities. Prepare all planned recreational activities and have available for students and staff 15 minutes before programming begins. Assist Recreational Manager in planning and preparing for special events and other rec programming. Complete inventory of rec supplies when assigned. Work with other recreation assistants to ensure that all residential programming shifts are covered. Complete recreational tracking for assigned area(s) before the end of each shift. Complete all tasks assigned to the end of shift checklist. Attend all meetings as assigned by the Recreational Manager. Use a Trauma Informed Approach by communicating with and about students in a respectful, positive, and age-appropriate manner while consistently using a therapeutic tone even in high stress situations. Utilize visual supports, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), communication boards/books, and other communication devices with students who use these resources. Demonstrate the ability to consistently and competently implement PBSPs with all students. Complete all assigned trainings within the designated time frame and complete at least 24 hours of training annually. Use crisis management techniques taught in trainings including verbal de-escalation, creative redirection, topic changes, and allowing space and time for processing during a crisis. Recognize, take immediate action when necessary, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate manager. Participate in emergency drills such as fire evacuation, severe weather, tornado, and disaster plan. Ensure a safe and clean environment by removing damaged items, ensuring classrooms and residential programming areas are clean, and reporting maintenance needs to Recreational Manager or Shift Manager. Work collaboratively with co-workers throughout the organization in a respectful and positive manner. Complete job duties of DSP when scheduled to work directly with students. What You'll Do: Supervise and support Cabin Leaders in daily responsibilities Lead morning & evening village schedules and plan activities Track camper health needs & assist with med delivery Communicate with camper families and respond to concerns Ensure cabins and village spaces are clean and safe Lead weekly check-ins and mid-summer reviews for your team Distribute camper mail and manage late/early camper logistics Report maintenance needs and ensure camp policies are followed Participate in other camp activities as planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, as the schedule allows, mainly after dinner hours. Flex into other roles and temporary assignments to other duties (including Cabin Leader) if needed If you're a servant-hearted leader with a passion for discipleship and a love for camp life, this role is for you! Requirements Spiritual Is a professing Christian and is supportive of Timber-lee's mission and core values as well as committed to the truths found in our Statement of Faith. Shows a positive and cooperative attitude of ministry to the position, guests, and fellow employees. Positional Must be at least 18 years old (21 years and older preferred) Possesses organizational skills Possesses strong relational skills Experience in working with children in 2nd-12th grades is preferred Able to care for campers' physical needs Has excellent communication skills and the ability to teach and lead others. Can provide campers spiritual encouragement and support consistent with spiritual truths found in the Statement of Faith Is able to share the gospel with others; is able to pray with others. Capable of maintaining the proper atmosphere in the assigned village Is able to take charge of a large crowd Demonstrates initiative and ability to lead small teams to accomplish common objectives and meet expectations Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain campground in all seasons of the year; able to be on one's feet for long periods of time Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire to be considered for this position.
