PRIMARY FUNCTIONResponsible for the overall operation of an assigned squadron providing long term and short term plans for aircraft maintenance support.
• Recognizes and pursues changes in contract scope and/or workload requirements. • This person will be required to manage all activities of maintenance department staff.• This position requires the person to be the point of contact for union issues and will be evaluating personnel performance. • Requires extensive technical knowledge of aircraft, machinery, facilities, and equipment. • This person must have strong electrical, hydraulic and mechanical aircraft knowledge, including personal knowledge of computers. • This position requires extensive knowledge of the NAVAIRINST 3710.1G and CNAFINST 4790.2B CH-1. • This individual must have a strong mechanical aptitude in order to offer technical direction in all maintenance areas. • The person must be knowledgeable of basic supply procedures and the of current CBA.• Other Duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Will have some supervisory duties assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:• Advanced computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.• Ability to enter data accurately into databases. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Advanced knowledge of standard investigative techniques and methodologies.• Ability to prepare clear, concise, and competent correspondence and reports.• Experience working with government agencies.• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all matters, both as they are related to security subordinates and department operations.• Thorough knowledge of all appropriate ethical standards regarding contracting actions.• Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, prompt response and follow-up. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas with limited information in high stress situations and environments.• Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management and regulatory agencies.• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.• Ability to multi-task.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline. • At least ten (10) years within last fifteen (15) years in direct aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modification. • Of the ten (10) years of experience in aircraft maintenance, six (6) years shall be in a supervisory position that include responsibility for assigning program workloads as well as duties for entire shifts.• Must be able to maintain and obtain a Government Security Clearance
