Position Summary The Physician Coach - GME Behavioral Health Faculty role serves as a key member of the Adena GME team, supporting our mission through resident education, wellness initiatives, and faculty development. This role focuses on promoting resident and faculty well-being, advancing behavioral health education, and cultivating a positive learning environment that encourages both professional and personal growth. Reporting directly to the Designated Institutional Official in a matrixed structure-and working closely with the Family Medicine Residency Program Director-the Behavioral Health Faculty will: Provide confidential guidance and support to residents and faculty in areas such as well-being, burnout/resilience, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, leadership development, interprofessional collaboration, and academic/career advancement. Develop and implement longitudinal curricula in behavioral medicine, professionalism, career development, and wellness. Advise programs on behavioral medicine and resident wellness within the educational context. Offer educational resources and consultation on the psychosocial aspects of medical care, including strategies for understanding and addressing common mental health conditions from an educational standpoint. Note: This position does not involve direct clinical care of patients, but plays a vital role in supporting the behavioral health needs of learners and ensuring alignment with ACGME accreditation and curricular expectations. Minimum Qualifications Required Education: Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology Major/Area of Concentration: Behavioral Health, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Behavioral Science, or related field Preferred Education: Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, or EdD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or related field Additional training in medical education, health professions education, or organizational leadership Required Certifications, Credentials, and Licenses: Must hold, or be eligible for, independent licensure to practice in a behavioral health field in the State of Ohio Completion of De-escalation Training within 6 months of hire Preferred Certifications: Certification or training in physician coaching, resilience training, or organizational well-being (e.g., Certified Physician Development Coach, National Wellness Institute certification) Experience Requirements Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in behavioral health, counseling, or a related field Experience working with adult learners or professionals in high-stress environments (healthcare, education, etc.) Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, or counsel in an academic or healthcare setting Strong understanding of wellness, resilience, and behavioral medicine concepts in the context of medical education Why Join Adena Health?
