This position will consist of cuttting materials used to build aluminum Ag, Auto Racing and Construction trailers. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chop Saw Operator is responsible for cutting aluminum for entire production floor using a miter saw. This is a fast-paced position that sets the pace for all of production and must:
*Perform well under pressure
*Prioritize and stay organized while working through interuptions
Must have excellent measuring and cutting skills and attention to detail. Ideal candidate will have a background in construction, cutting aluminum, metal fabricating, sheet metal, carpentry skills and abstract thinking. Year round inside work.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBITIES:
- Reads and follows blueprints and work orders ensuring a quality product that meets customer demands.
- Cuts aluminum for entire production floor
- Controls and adjusts saw according to specifications
- Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues including but not limited to, defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from work order.
- Ensures that finished product meets quality expectations. Strives for the highest level of quality and understands the need for continuous improvement; supports the concept of “good enough is never good enough”.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area; works to minimize scrap, places unused material back in appropriate area, and disposes of waste appropriately.
- Follows all safety procedures, wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and reports any accidents or near misses to supervisor immediately.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

- Must have a general understanding of carpentry, experience with cutting angles and degrees a must
