Christ Fellowship company history timeline

1993

During a mission trip to Russia and Romania in 1993, Pastor Tom and Donna Mullins (Christ Fellowship Church) toured several orphanages and witnessed the deplorable living conditions and dire needs of devastated refugee children.

1995

A key part of our history has always been church-planting and, in 1995, Christ Fellowship plants its first church in the United States.

2000

In 2000, Bud and Marla Paxson were compelled by God to provide the seed money to purchase the land for our Paxson Campus.

2006

In October 2006, the satellite campus opened in a 115,000-square-foot former Target store at Southern Boulevard and State Road 7.

Soon after that, the Lovett Family graciously underwrote the cost to build our Casa del Padre Family Cottage. It wasn’t long before our board members and supporters took the initiative to raise support to build Villages of Hope in 2006, to provide independent living residential support and essential life-skills development for emancipated foster youth and other homeless youth in need.

2009

Prior to planting Christ Fellowship Church, Bart Box was called to Brook Hills in 2009 as the Pastor for Biblical Training.

2011

Beginning in September of 2011, these groups merged into a core team of about 30 members who met on Monday nights in a photography studio downtown.

In 2011, after embracing the idea of planting churches in the Birmingham area, two Homewood-area small groups from Brook Hills began to discuss what it would look like for the Church at Brook Hills to multiply in Homewood.

In 2011, Tom and Donna entrusted the leadership of Christ Fellowship to their son Todd and his wife, Julie.

2012

Christ Fellowship Church officially began on Sunday, April 1, 2012.
