RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the responsibility for the total patient care within the nursing unit, and the management of the unit.
Provides direct nursing care to the patients
Carries out administrative and patient care duties as directed by the ADON or DON
Supervises and assumes responsibility for the actions and care delivered by the nurse associates including monitoring and responding to all policies and procedures regarding such duties.
Administers medication and treatment per the Physician orders specific to the patient.

The 5 South Observation Unit is a fast-paced, team-focused environment designed to support both the Emergency Department and telemetry units. This 21-bed unit provides short-term observation for low-acuity patients to determine whether inpatient admission is needed. With strong nurse-to-patient ratios and a collaborative care model, this unit is an excellent fit for nurses with backgrounds in Telemetry, ED, ICU/CCU, intermediate care, or ambulatory care.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to low-acuity observation patients.
Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient patient flow.
Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow evidence-based standards of care.
