Registered Nurse (RN) Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The RN acts as a patient advocate. The RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.The CRT nurse duties may include the following: * Vascular Procedures: PICC, mid-lines, PIV insertion (traditional & US-guided), lab draws (for pts phlebotomy is unable to collect), support cath-flo initiation on M/S units * Transports: includes: pts from critical care areas to procedural areas (MRI, CT, nuc med, IR, etc. as well as pts transferring to a higher level of care May have to stay with unstable pts awaiting transfer to higher level of care if no beds available * Code Response: RR, code blue, code purple, code restraint, code BAT, MTP * May be the team leader or the recorder depending on ACLS provider response. Responsible for ensuring all documentation is accurate and thorough. * In periods of down-time: support surges in acuity & volume- assist units with tasks/ bedside procedures, assist with admissions/transfers, round in ED to help with pts awaiting admission Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements * Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. * Critical Care Experience Required * American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) * American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Registered Nurse (RN) Work Schedule * May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy. * Scheduled off at least three holidays per year. * Required to work weekends per unit need. * Expected to work overtime on occasion.
