Make all adjustments necessary to ensure parts stay within specified control limits. Simultaneous set-up and operation of multiple machines is required due to long cycle times. Keep coolant and oil levels at the proper levels and concentrations. After hardening is done, check handle alignment and straighten if needed. Check joint tensions and adjust as needed. Weigh gage as needed. Check handle spread and gage as needed. Check nose gap and gage as needed. Rope cut pliers following standard procedures. Re-file as needed. Needle Nose pliers must have the nose adjusted to meet Quality standards. Cell operators will be required to learn all of the jobs that are performed within the work cell. Machine Operator - 2nd Shift Hours are 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Responsible for operating machinery in a safe and efficient manner to produce a part that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Essential Responsibilities: Read and understand work order/BOM or follow oral instructions to operate machinery and produce a part that meets all specifications. Load and unload material into frame of forming machine or trimming fixture. Push button or depress pedal to activate machines. Load and unload plastic parts into die cutter or CNC fixture for trimming. Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions. Remove burrs, sharp edges or scrap from finished piece using tools such as air hoses, band saws and trimmers. Inspect quality of finished product and report any quality issues to Setup Person or Shift Supervisor. Count and pack finished product into boxes for shipping or inventory. Work in different work centers as production needs require. Input accurate daily production information in computer shop floor data collection system. Communicate issues to the following shift Machine Operators and clean workstation at the end of the shift. Performs inspection and packaging of plastic parts. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Must be able to run 2 Injection Mold machines independently by six month mark. Processes manufactured parts per job instructions, pack verified amounts, and label appropriately. Constructs boxes for packing at assigned machine. Visually inspects parts for defects as noted on QPM and sample boards to ensure quality parts are being packed in compliance with specified requirements. May cut off runners with gate cutters and inspect such things as springs or screws to ensure finished part meets specifications. Enters information on log sheets such as in-process books every two hours as quality checks are made to ensure product consistency and conformity to quality standards. Understands production records and is able to keep accurate counts of accepted, rejected and scrapped product as noted on packing logs. Lifts and carries boxes (up to 50 lbs.) to pallets for removal to shipping or storage. On occasion may use pallet jack to move pallets of boxes or totes. Responsible for keeping the assigned work area well organized, clean and neat Alerts shift supervisor of machine malfunction or scrap quantity issues. Maintains effective working relationships with other coworkers Additional duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work with coworkers in a team environment.
