Brian Murray is President and Chief Executive Officer of HarperCollins Publishers. Since being appointed CEO in 2008, HarperCollins has grown its revenues 50% and expanded its global footprint from operating only in English language territories to publishing in 16 languages and across 24 countries. Growth has come from organic investment in authors, imprints and new capabilities as well as acquisitions, including that of publishers Thomas Nelson and Harlequin. Under Murray’s leadership, HarperCollins has transitioned from a traditional print publishing company to a dynamic print and digital publisher with more than $350M in digital revenues derived from new and innovative business models. The company’s strategic partnerships and strong relationships with booksellers and distributors of all sizes, new start-ups and large tech platforms have been instrumental in HarperCollins’ transformation. Murray joined HarperCollins in 1997 and held several positions in the U.S. General Books Group until he was named Chief Executive Officer of HarperCollins Australia/New Zealand in 2001. In 2004, he returned to the United States as Group President. Murray is past chair of the Association of American Publishers and currently serves on the board. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the International Publishers Association, where he was actively involved in activities that protect authors’ copyrights and freedom of expression.

Madeline McIntosh

Madeline McIntosh was appointed CEO of Penguin Random House U.S. in April 2018. Her previous positions in the company include President of the Penguin Publishing Group; President and COO of Penguin Random House U.S.; Publisher, Random House Audio; and Director of Adult Sales, Random House, Inc. Madeline originally joined the Random House predecessor Bantam Doubleday Dell in 1994, as an assistant in the New Media department. In addition to the variety of positions she has held within the company, she served in 2008 and 2009 as the Director of Kindle Content Acquisition for Amazon, based in Luxembourg.

Annie Callanan joined the Academic Publishing Division of Informa, Taylor & Francis, as Chief Executive at the end of June 2017. She has significant leadership experience in business-to-business information services and technology companies, and expertise in delivering digital innovation and operational improvement. Annie previously served as Chief Executive of Quantros, provider of digital solutions to the healthcare industry. In prior roles she was Chief Operating Officer at technology services firm Systech International, Chief Executive at the global information and electronic services organisation Bowker and Chief Operating Officer at ProQuest, a specialist in delivering knowledge, content and data for academic and corporate researchers and librarians. Prior to this, as Executive Vice President for the Life Sciences portfolio at Advanstar Communications, Annie oversaw its clinical and industry journals, educational services and conferences. She started her career managing leading brands in print, online publishing and trade shows at Miller Freedman/CMP Media, now part of UBM. Annie holds an MBA in Finance from New York University. She has completed leadership programmes at Columbia Business School and the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management, and has served on the boards of directors of the American Publishers Association and the International ISBN Agency.
