Chubb Commercial Insurance is seeking a motivated, results-driven professional to join our team as a Core Commercial Property and Casualty Production Underwriter. This role focuses on underwriting and growing a diverse book of business, including Manufacturing, Wholesale Distribution, Professional Services, Food, Real Estate, Cultural Institutions, and other Middle Market industries. With clients generating revenues up to $1B, we offer both guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive program structures.
This position involves building strong relationships with agency and broker partners, marketing Chubb's full suite of products, and driving profitable growth in the Commercial Insurance portfolio. You will collaborate closely with local branch teams, Territory Underwriting Managers, Industry Practice/Line of Business leaders, and Home Office personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners to drive submission activity in target industry segments.
Achieve new business production goals of $1.0M-$1.5M while maintaining profitability and adhering to underwriting strategies.
Develop a robust prospect pipeline (5X production goal) using advanced prospecting tools and maintain strong marketplace visibility with 12+ external visits per month.
Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
Meet or exceed rate, exposure, and retention goals on renewals by retaining key accounts and coordinating value-added services (e.g. Loss Control, Claims).
Analyze submissions, quote ratios, hit ratios, and efficiency metrics to ensure profitable growth.
Leverage client and broker relationships to cross-sell Chubb's full range of products, including Multinational, Environmental, Ocean Cargo, Financial Lines, Product Recall, E&O, A&H and more.
Partner with internal team, including branch staff, Territory Underwriting Managers, and Line of Business/Industry Practice leaders, to deliver tailored solutions.
Bachelor's degree or higher.
1+ years of commercial underwriting experience, preferably in the core middle market property and casualty segment.
Strong understanding of Property, General Liability, Auto, Workers Compensation, Umbrella, and International lines of business.
Proven marketing and negotiation skills with a focus on building and maintaining external relationships.
Technical underwriting expertise, including exposure/control analysis, coverage forms, policy structure, loss picks and profitability analysis.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
General understanding of insurance business, regulatory environment, and adherence to underwriting authority.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

For Raleigh, NC-based candidates: This hybrid role requires working in our Raleigh office at least two days per week, with the flexibility to work from home the remaining three days.
For remote candidates within our footprint: You will work from your home office and collaborate with your team virtually, traveling to our Raleigh office for meetings and company events up to four times a year.
Your WORK as an Express Account Underwriter I will make a difference as you:
Review new business submissions and make final risk acceptability and pricing decisions within designated authority. For risks outside of authority the underwriter will analyze the risk and make appropriate recommendation to management.
Review endorsement requests and make final decision on acceptability, terms & conditions and communicate to Agency Service Representatives (ASR) and agents accordingly.
Review renewals and make final decision on acceptability, terms & conditions and communicate to ASR and agents accordingly.
Order and screen miscellaneous reports needed in rating and underwriting processes, such as MVR's, Experian Reports, Loss Control Reports, etc.
Provide customer service support to our agents, handling various inquires and requests with some level of complexity.
Actively participate and drive territory goals.
Assist in training of other EAUs.
Conduct IT testing as required.
Skills to get the JOB done RIGHT:
BA/BS Degree with 2 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills - Internal and External.
Understands the fundamentals of insurance.
Strong PC (MS Office, Outlook) skills; knowledge of policy processing systems and imaging systems.
AU Completed along with starting CBIA and CISR or CRIS.

The Underwriter Trainee underwrites individual disability income insurance applications, within guidelines set for the issuance of policies on a standard or substandard basis. Primary Responsibilities

An Amwins Company Associate Underwriter: Description & Duties Underwriting Associates support our underwriting functions and staff, applying their understanding of risk evaluation and acting as ‘first line' of risk review by performing initial analysis of data and exposure. Assess and confirm specific actions with underwriter, acting within authority guidelines
Calculate APs and RPs. Hand-off to Risk Analysts to facilitate the processing of service requests
Deconstruct complex requests, ensuring full RA understanding of the request and approach to resolution
Seize all opportunities to train RAs on the thought process behind the UA work
Review and issuance of policy forms
Conduct weekly touch point with underwriters to review outstanding items
Collaborate with Underwriter Analysts for support on needed corrections, process bottlenecks, etc.

Join our Amwins Access team in Santa Clarita as an Associate Underwriter!
This is a full-time, in office position in our Santa Clarita office.
Pursuant to California regulation, the compensation for this position is $68,640 to $72,000 annually, and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
We are looking for people with:
* At least 1 year of prior insurance experience and/or related degree from an accredited four-year university
* Property and Casualty License or ability to earn a license within 90 days (cost reimbursed and study support provided by Amwins)
* Team focused mindset who is able to provide consistent, high-quality work
* Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, organization, professionalism and customer-service mentality
* Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
Each Associate Underwriter provides vital team functions:
* Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes
* Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter
* Review and handle inspection recommendations and discrepancies
* Monitor various reports for consistency
* Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits
* Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
* Data entry into multiple internet based systems
