ROLE SUMMARY: The Quality Engineer will lead the continual improvement program, oversee process validations and host customer audits, in addition to ensuring the plant maintains compliance to FDA Regulations, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Standards and customer requirements. . DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions): * Assist in conducting Quality Investigations and Consumer Complaint Investigations * Lead Plant CAPA Program. Monitor plant investigations and ensure CAPA investigations are initiated and investigated in a timely manner. * Ensure closure of investigations and CAPAs is within allotted timeframe and monitor effectiveness * Recommend and assist in implementing Manufacturing Improvements based on Quality Investigations * Assist in developing and monitoring Manufacturing and Laboratory Validations * Perform statistical review of data obtained during Manufacturing & Laboratory Validations * Collaborate with Research and Development on Plant Trials and Technology Transfers * Develop and analyze statistical data in order to provide recommendations to achieve favorable yield levels while conforming to product specifications * Evaluate Quality Control test results for trend analysis * Assist in Annual Product Review * Conduct audits of processes and analyze statistical data to facilitate Continuous Improvement * Lead Continuous Improvement team and provide leadership for Six Sigma Green Belt Projects/Certifications * Participate in all job related safety training and personally complies with all safety policies and procedures * Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * • Knowledge of QE and auditing of manufacturing operations * Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; Black Belt a plus * Knowledge of cGMPs, 21 CFR Part 110, 210/211 or Global Food Safety Initiative Standards, and HACCP * Experience working in a plant environment * Proactive, self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities in a face paced environment * Knowledge of cGMPs and FDA Regulations pertaining to Manufacturing of OTC Drug Products (21 CFR 211) * Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and sampling programs * High initiative with demonstrated leadership, results achievement and orientation * Excellent influence, persuasion, verbal and written communication skills required * Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects at once. * Excel, Word, PPT, Minitab Education and Experience: * BS/MS degree in related field (Quality Engineering certification desirable) * Minimum of 5 years quality experience in the consumer products, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical industries The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,200 - $114,100. This position is also eligible for a bonus.
