POSITION TITLE: Production Technician
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
This position is responsible to oversee the operation and control of the production process. This includes all daily operation from the receiving of raw materials to the load out of finished goods. This position will require operation of all packaging equipment and warehousing operations. All Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operation Procedures will be followed.
Essential Functions:
* Oversee the complete start-up and shut-down of the manufacturing process
* Effectively operate, monitor, and maintain manufacturing process within SOP's
* Performs all packaging within SOP's
* Performs loading of all finished product within SOP's
* Performs all receiving of raw materials within SOP's
* Provide accurate documentation of all log sheets and production records
* Ensure all required sampling is performed
* Oversee all duties related to shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished product
* Keeps work area clean, neat and free from safety hazards
* Follow all facility safety rules, policies and procedures including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Follow all facility rules to maintain quality and integrity of both raw materials and finished products
Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
* High school diploma required - Additional education preferred
* Able to operate industrial feed production equipment
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Good basic computer literacy and accuracy
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
* Attentive to organization, detail and accuracy

Major Responsibilities:
Non-Dental Functions:
Responsible to transfer semi-finish product from main vessel to tote run tank.Physically performs manual additions 80% to 100% of the time day.Works with corrosive, acids, toxic, oxidizers and high temperature unfinished product on a daily basis.
Dental and Non-Dental Functions:
Responsible to perform washouts, purges, and paperwork including batch changes to maintain production line.Reports to the Processing Supervisor to receive daily assignments Operator is required to stage batches using a fork truck Add dry and liquid raw materials into blenders Must properly label tanks, totes, samples etc.Run different equipment simultaneously such as charging raw material to main vessel while preparing pre-mixes.Follow batch sheet instructions and sign off on each step of the process - FDA Required.Obtain samples from each batch and submit to the Quality Department for approval Manage bulk liquid and dry inventory through the use of the WMS system.Perform OSHA required forklift safety inspection and complete checklist Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures Responsible for keeping work area clean Adhere to departments SOP's, GMP's and JSA'sParticipates in all job-related Safety training and personally complies with all safety policies and procedures Will receive general orientation, job specific, and refresher training relative to the hazardous chemicals they may handle in the course of performing their jobs.Will comply with all NJ laws and company policies/procedures while sampling, unloading, pre-weighing, transferring, and/or handling, hazardous chemicals Perform other duties as assigned
Dental Functions:
Dental operator uses an automated control process via HMI touch screen to process semi finish product.Dental operator connects the dedicated hose to transfer raw material from tanker to pre-fill batch hoppers.Manually introduces the raw material into the main vessel through a vacuum system.Responsible for batching and supply the line with product via storage or totes.Work with oxidizers and toxic raw material.Maintain LPD skid to support daily packaging line requirements
Skills:
Must be able to speak and communicate in English.Basic math skills Strong computer skills - Ability to operate automated systems or programming Forklift certified Able to follow directions Detailed oriented Teamwork oriented - Ability to effectively communicate Ability to multitask Able to operate multiple blenders - additions
Education and experience required:
HS diploma or equivalent (GED).Chemical Aptitude - Experience in chemicals mixing and batching process.Minimum one year experience as a Compounder/Batch maker in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. FDA environment a plus.Experience with WMS a plus.Must clear a respiratory fit test to wear a respirator.

General Summary:
This position supports product manufacturing to ensure plant quality requirements are met while maintaining all safety standards. This is achieved in part by conducting line audits and laboratory analysis of raw, in-process and finished goods.
Essential Functions:
+ Responsible for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area of responsibility.
+ Support all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
+ Responsible for having a clear understanding of, and adhering to, all Corporate and plant quality processes, procedures and methodology.
+ Performs raw material, in-process and finished product QC analytical testing which includes viscosity, specific gravity, pH, solids, color/odor, titration, GC and HPLC analysis, etc.
+ Conducts audits on operating, high speed production lines.
+ Responsible for notifying all appropriate parties of non-conforming product (out of specification material and/or product) and take appropriate action to contain material/product.
+ Actively participates in root cause analysis and supports nonconformance investigations.
+ Responsible for the calibration, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of all critical laboratory equipment such as HPLCs, GC, balances, and autotitrator.
+ Understands and incorporates good documentation practices and good laboratory practices in daily operations.
+ Utilizes various computer programs to record, retrieve and analyze information.
+ Assists in the creation of SOPs, work instructions and forms.
+ Suggests opportunities for continuous improvement and areas for change where applicable.
+ Participates in Lean and Kaizen events as assigned.
+ Schedule flexibility, ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
+ Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required-
+ Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.

+ 1-3 years' experience in a quality laboratory and/or experience as a manufacturing quality inspector or floor technician in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
