JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for improving customer service, developing and implementing new promotions and maintaining and cultivating relationships with VIP customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Market and recruit new guests and other customers to property.
* Monitor visitation and play of VIP guests and walk the Slot floor regularly to provide customer service and assistance.
* Respond to guest's requests, questions or concerns in an immediate and attentive fashion using detailed precision.
* Prepare for guests visits and follow-up throughout and after departure, maintaining contact to ensure return visits.
* Tele-market various player lists for contacting, attracting and information gathering purposes.
* Attend special events and promotions to build guest rapport and create recognition amongst guests.
* Determine player eligibility of complimentary services by analyzing player accounts while maintaining management reinvestment guidelines.
* Maintain current, accurate player account information in Oasis to insure database integrity and privacy.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Gaming and Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1-2 years of experience. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the repair and upkeep of the property including but not limited to barns, grand stand, office buildings, and grounds. Under the direct supervision of a higher level operations or maintenance employee, the skilled laborer performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance, repair and/or operation of various installations and facilities. The skilled laborer is also certified/licensed in a related field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operates a variety of small stationary equipment such as air compressors, portable generators, concrete mixers, pumps, etc.
* Operates a variety of Heavy Equipment such as water trucks, kubotas, skid loaders, etc.
* Operates, maintains, and makes minor repairs to a wide variety of small equipment such as tractors, mowers, power saws, etc.
* Operates automotive equipment, such as pick-up trucks, small vans, or cars, to transport employees/equipment to/from work sites
* Assists skilled mechanics in mechanical work on machinery and building trade operations;
* Builds forms or structures using bricks, concrete and stone, and the repair of same
* Performs minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting work
* Repairs or replaces defective equipment using hand and power tools
* Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be 21 years or older. Must have a Valid Driver's License and able to obtain a Louisiana Racing License.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At least two years of relevant experience required; High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Good knowledge of the techniques and terminology used in the operation of mechanical equipment; ability to operate a variety of mechanical equipment; ability to follow oral or written instructions; ability to work alone or with others; ability to learn new work quickly; mechanical ability; manual dexterity; physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position. JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Starter will assist the Starter in the handling, guiding and loading of horses into the starting gate; supports the Starter in setting a timely race starts and conducts and/or participates in schooling horses; provides labor support to higher level staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Serves as a right hand for the Head Starter.
* Maintain a log of all horses that come to the gate during training hours. Log how the horse is handled while being loaded in the starting gate. This is called putting "Marks" on the horse.
* The Starter is assigned a horse to handle. They must load the horse to the best of their ability with the information given.
* Report any problems with the horses or the gate to the Head Starter.
* Handle race horses and load into the starting gate.
* Maintenance of the starting gate. Such as, washing to keep clean.
* Set numbers on top of the starting gate, making sure that the number on the stall matches the number assigned to the horse being loaded into the gate.
* Morning work consist of schooling horses or breaking these horses from the gate. Once a new horse is ready the Asst. Starter sends them to the Head Starter for an application for an OK card.
* Have the trainer bring the horse to the gate in the mornings, continually, until the Head Starter feels the horse has overcome the problem and is taken off the Head Starter's list.
* Also, working with horses that have some problems while trying to load them into the gate.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Knowledge of Thoroughbred horses.
* Ability to handle horses weighing in excess of 900 pounds.
* Preferably one to two years prior experience as an Asst. Starter.
* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
* Ability to write simple correspondence.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Perform or arrange for repairs, such as complete overhauls, replacement of defective valves, gasket, or bearings, pumps, compressors, pneumatic and air-conditioning equipment.
* Monitor and inspect equipment, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices and meter to detect leaks or malfunctions, and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
* Clean and lubricate equipment and make minor adjustments as needed using hand tools.
* Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results, instrument reading and details of equipment malfunction and maintenance work.
* Monitor and inspect the building's plumbing systems making repairs or replacing water sewer or waste lines, and in the daily maintenance activities.
* Check and test electrical systems to determine voltages, using voltage meters.
* Performing other related duties, as assigned.
