Summary

Performs health screens, specific to infectious diseases, to entrants at CGH facilities when indicated.

Responsibilities

* Greet people as they enter facility and perform necessary health screening. Involves asking medical or health-related questions (from a script) ,taking temperatures and then following an algorithm to direct visitor to appropriate location.
* Escalates positive screens (people with fever or symptoms) to appropriate medical or nursing personnel
* Operates thermal screening or other selected technology solutions once trained
* Manages patient, visitor and/or employee flow in assigned screening area
* Ensures people are wearing masks as needed.
* Maintains cleanliness of entry and waiting areas as needed.
* Monitor number of people entering facility in accordance with policies and guidance.
* Rounds on patients and families frequently to assess and address personal needs, concerns or comfort related issues. Reports information to responsible nurse for resolution when necessary.
* Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in person as needed with people entering the facility. Following training, demonstrates ability to de-escalate potentially tense situations and/or escalates issues as directed
* Performs functions with patient safety and patient experience top of mind; creates a welcoming environment
* Performs other functions as required.

OB Manager

Our 25-Bed Critical Access Hospital is looking for a hands-on Manager of OB services to join our team of compassionate caregivers.

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officers, this working department manager supervises and provides professional and technical guidance to nursing staff in the OB Department. This nursing Manager performs highly complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge, its application to a variety of situations, as well as exercising independent judgment. Participation in all management functions of the nursing department (planning, organizing, leading, teaching and mentoring), is a daily expectation of this role. Additionally, this manager will also be staffing on a regular basis.
Required Qualifications: BSN with current licensure in the State of New Mexico or hold a nursing license in a qualified compact licensure state. Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience and two to three years management experience preferred.

Administrative Assistant - Lab

Summary: The Laboratory Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative assistance to the Laboratory Department and Manager; relieving them of routine details, handles special assignments and communicates with departments, staff, and the public.
Essential Functions:

* Completes routine administrative duties of the Laboratory department. Answers phone calls and refers to appropriate personnel.
* Prepares materials for meetings, conferences, and other events, including routine correspondence, obtains signatures as required. Completes other documents, i.e. memos, directives or information for staff.
* Routes ongoing correspondence, reports, requisitions, and other materials to proper destinations in accordance with procedures.
* Create and maintain a document control system.
* Assist with Paylocity (Time & Attendance), administer staff schedules.
* Create and maintain files including staff training, CAP, and other department records as needed.
* Create files to assure current licensure and competencies for department staff. Contact Lab staff for renewal of license prior to expiration; forward copy to Human Resources.
* There are other duties, while not considered essential for this position, are required as part of the function of this position.

Position Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

* An associate degree or equivalent preferred; High School Diploma required.
* Four years of secretarial experience; prefer previous medical office or healthcare setting.
* Medical terminology preferred.
* A strong understanding of Patient Confidentiality and HIPAA.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
* Independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
* Analytic ability to gather and summarize data for reporting, help determine solutions and prioritize work.

Summary of Position:

A registered professional nurse responsible for the delivery of the care of the patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Also directs and guides patient teaching, activities of ancillary personnel, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Functions within the Nurse Practice Act of the State of New Mexico, as well as the policies and procedures of the Cibola General Hospital.

Qualifications

Requires current New Mexico license.

Requires current CPR.

OB

NRP certification within 9 months.

Completion of fetal monitoring course within 6 months.

NRP and fetal monitoring must remain current following initial acquisition.

Adequately assess/care for antepartum, labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum care.

Competency with newborn assessment and care.

Must know sterile tech and possess knowledge of sterile field.

ACLS preferred.

Physical Considerations

Standing: to change IV bags, set up equipment, deliver patient care/treatment.

Walking: to walk patients, make rounds, respond to emergencies, answer phones and alarms, gather equipment and move about unit.

Squatting and kneeling: to plug in equipment, provide CPR, assess and empty drainage bags, assist patients from floor and transfer patients from chairs to beds.

Pushing/pulling: to move patients in wheelchairs, crash carts, room furniture, gurneys, repositions patients, bedscales, apply pressure to vascular sites and open drawers.

Lifting: to transfer adult patients (approximately 80 pounds), move equipment into rooms (approximately 20 pounds).

Manual/finger dexterity: to administer medications, calibrate equipment, instert IVs, insert tubes, insert cannulas, set up telementry and IV pumps, utilize keyboard functions and document.

Vision: to read fine print, lables, documentation: to review telementry, digital monitor; to read chemical reactions and test results.

Reaching: overhead reach to open cabinets, insert/obtain wall suction, obtain supplies from top shelf.

Hearing: to auscultate (BP, HT sounds, lung sounds, bowel sounds); to answer alarms, phones, distress signals and overhead pages.

Sitting: to chart, counsel, give patient teaching.
