Gary B. Smith is a British-American executive, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Ciena, an American telecommunications networking multinational.

Jane Hobbs is currently Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Ciena Corporation. In this role, she leads a global HR team in reinforcing strong company culture, creating and leading large-scale employee engagement and development programs, and implementing reward and talent management strategies that support the achievement of business goals and objectives. Before joining Ciena in February 2013, Jane was Director, Group Human Resources for Travelex, a global retail foreign exchange and international payments service provider. Previously, she was Director, Human Resources & Internal Communications for Openreach at BT, where she was responsible for all aspects of Human Resources including alignment of the HR function and broader employee base with corporate strategy. Ms. Hobbs also served in HR management roles eSkye Solutions, Walt Disney Internet Group and Ford Motor Company. She has also lived and worked extensively across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Leeds, and later earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management from University of Westminster.
