A Patient Coordinator is trained to act as the first point of contact for our patients where they set the tone for the patient's visit through excellent patient care. This employee will also perform the necessary administrative responsibilities needed to create a smooth check-in/out experience for patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone). Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave * Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times * Practice urgency at all times with patients' time, as well as Doctor's time and schedule * Manage patient flow in the office * Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct payments * Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer * General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times * Desire to gain industry knowledge and training * Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals * Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change * Consistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused * Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business * Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE * Minimum Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) * Minimum Required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS * Minimum Required: None SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. Job SummaryTo accurately check patients in and out by verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining patient records and accounts. Maintain patient flow. Provide positive patient relations. Responsibilities Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all systems applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents Greet patients, provide patients with initial paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports Complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets Maintain complete and accurate documentation Other duties and responsibilities as assigned QualificationsHigh School graduate or equivalent. Previous medical clerical experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office. Accuracy and detail orientation. Positive customer service skills. Well-groomed appearance.
