    Coordinator, Museum Camps Cincinnati Museum Center Reports to: Director, Museum Camps Department: Community Engagement and Programs FLSA Status: PT seasonal, nonexempt Compensation: $16.00/hr Season: May 18-August 7, 2026 Position Overview: The Museum Camp Coordinator serves as a leader and point-person at Union Terminal and at off-site, satellite locations for Museum Camps. Museum Camps Coordinators are responsible for preparing and transporting materials and supplies, collecting and organizing camper paperwork, covering instructor's lunch, ensuring all museum camp staff and campers adhere to policies set by Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC), aiding in classroom management and intervention, communicating between instructors, Director and with camper families and serving as the lead CMC representative. Responsibilities/Duties: Supervise staff, interns and youth volunteers so that campers are supervised throughout the camp day including lunch time and recess at Union Terminal and at offsite locations Regularly aid in classroom management and behavior needs as needed, which includes direct camper support Create an inclusive atmosphere and support camper accommodations as appropriate. Oversee camper safety by supporting staff, and campers in adhering to CMC's policies. Support instructors in keeping to daily routine and schedule. Purchase, prepare and organize materials, supplies, and snacks for Museum Camps. While at satellite location - serve as the lead CMC representative and oversee camp operations such as check in and check out, daily communication with families and daily communication with offsite facility staff Co-Develop, implement and organize camp lesson plans and activities. Be familiar with all curriculum, be able to both write and teach educational programs as needed. Professionally and compassionately communicate with campers' families daily. Serve as a mentor and leader for Museum Camps Instructors, Interns and Youth Volunteers. Organize schedules, rosters, and paperwork. Lead daily morning meetings when needed. Lead daily drop-off and pick-up procedures. Ensure that instructors receive a lunch break and supervise campers while giving breaks to instructors. Co-facilitate Museum Camps training sessions. May 26- May 29, 8am-6pm Serve as an instructor during the day as needed. Education and experience: Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience with children grade K-6Previous supervisory experience preferred. Experience presenting lesson plans or planned programs to children or families preferred. Experience with camps preferred Classroom management experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must interact well with children. Comfortable working with multiple age groups. Power of discernment around confidentiality. Ability to determine how and when to divulge information (e.g. when safety is of concern) while maintaining the integrity of CMC and individual involved. Comfortable providing reasonable accommodation for campers. Must be able to communicate sensitive information in an empathetic and compassionate way. Must have strong leadership and people skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience organizing electronic files Certified in First Aid/CPR and able to share a copy of certificate OR open to becoming certified in First Aid/CPR Must have good communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work with a diverse workforce. Must have the ability to work at multiple locations with reliable transportation Experience prioritizing in stressful situations and ability to make quick decisions with creative solutions that follow CMC's mission values, policies and procedures. Ability to self-regulate in stressful situations and communicate needs effectively Excellent paperwork and organization skills required Ability to work without direct supervision Additional Requirements Museum Camp Coordinators must have availability when Museum Camps prepping, cleaning, training and onboarding are taking place unless prior approval has been ascertained before camps. Flexible hours in May to help with preparing for Camps Flexible hours in August to help with cleanup after Camps Flexible onboarding 4 hr session the week of May 18 - Date and time options will be provided upon hiring Training sessions take place May 26- May 29, 2026, 8am-6pm Museum Camps take place June 1, 2026- August 7, 2026, 8am-4:30pm weekdays daily with half hour unpaid lunch break. The work week may be 0 - 40 hours*. Weekends and holidays (Memorial Day 5/25, Juneteenth 6/19, Independence Day 7/3) are not required. *Overtime may be requested from time-to-time, depending on circumstances that may warrant some. Roles will change week to week.*May be scheduled up to 2 weeks of backup, where hours are most variable. Coordinators may be asked to aid in reasonable medical accommodation for campers in the event a Medical Coordinator is unavailable. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. of supplies and be able to physically move about the facility. Must be able to present programs, assist campers, or organize materials for long periods of time. Work area is Union Terminal in classrooms, exhibit floors, offices and other areas in and around Union Terminal, such as outside during check in and checkout. Position also requires work and travel outside of Union Terminal, including weeks that will be completely offsite at satellite Museum Camps locations including but not limited to: Cincinnati Observatory, where camp activities may take place partially or completely outdoors.
