Based on 38 ratings
Meeting and interacting with customers.
Short staffed and poor management.
Free drinks during your shift.
Better staff each store and each shift. Give the employees a discount! On anything! Employees should rank higher than the general population they serve. So give employees better incentives for doing their job well. Increase hourly wages! Circle K pays the lowest I’ve seen in the area for convenient stores. This is a main reason there’s so much turn over in staff. Not to mention, customers/people in general are unpredictable. Employees are at the forefront of this. Working in a convenient store setting can be potentially dangerous if the wrong people cross boundaries. Employees have died doing their jobs due to crazy customers. So I don’t think it’s asking too much to expect to make the same hourly wage than a fast food associate.
I went online and read through techniques on interviewing processes in general. FYI Circle K will conduct two separate interviews. This is a standard company wide process. The first interview is generally conducted by the store or assistant store manager at the particular store applied to. The second interview is conducted by the district manager themselves.
Definitely ran among the lowest of the convenient store market.
This company does a good job in this area.
The customers.
In my view, the sole advantages are weekly pay and flexibility.
As an ex-management team member, my main grievances were unrealistic expectations, insufficient support/appreciation, and inadequate compensation.
Although I don't have a favorite, People Perks benefits are considerate and equitable. It's commendable that (PTO) is now available to all employees, not limited to management or those past their first work anniversary, which is a significant improvement from previous years.
Lots of training
1) If someone doesn't do their coursework bonuses are withheld from everyone. 2) You are required to do everything alone; restaurant, cashier, paperwork, stocking, cleaning, and addressing customer concerns at a much lower than reported average pay.
Pros of working at circle k are gain in customer service, sales , communication and networking skills,
Limited growth
Chance to meet new people everyday
Management
By understanding cultural differences
I prepared by talking with people who were already working in this field. And through some online sources as well.
It’s very low.
It’s fine
The chance to communicate nd connect with people of different backgrounds.
Get to learn every aspect of the job.
11 dollar an hour starting pay, no promotions and small raises. This job promises bonuses that never happen, and say they will hire management directly but after the interview they say they only promote from within.
Coffee is the only benefit.
The CEO asked managers to cut overtime in order to save money. They make 194,000 annually per person and want to cut costs at the expense of the employees.
I would raise pay to be reflective of other similar jobs in the area. I would identify and promote candidates that are not only qualified but also talented. I would also remove the keys from bosses that are incompetent.
I walked in, told them they would hire anyone, and took my job.
This company drags the median pay down in my area.
There is very little diversity.
Being able to virtually be my own boss.
My customer's 1st, then the diversity of my current position.
Upper management's delusional & unrealistic expectations from workers. Their complete lack of caring about the health & welfare of both employees & customers. Hazardous & unsafe work conditions & their phoney (yet transparent) concern for employees well-being while being blind to some employees flagrant disregard for company protocol & then running good/long-term/loyal workers into the ground. Company motto is best stated as "well, IT'S A BODY!"
Right now only 20¢ off 20 gallons/per week of fuel.
Constantly on your feet responding to customer requests, engaging in multitasking, regularly problem solving, up selling products, providing stellar customer service, meeting new people, responding to unpredictable situations.
Unknown dangerous situations - such as robbery and/or criminal activity, lack of additional crew on shift.

Unfair workload. Expected quality work to be done in little time.
None
I like the regular customers.
Management barely knows what they're doing, and is willing to protect those the like to the detriment of others.
The health insurance in very good.
Ins & 401k
They take advantage of people with flexible schedules and so understaffed that you are usually alone with 70 to 100 thousand dollars in the safe, the most unsafe place to work
The paycheck
Flexible hours part and full time
Shift reliefs are frequently late . Verry disorganized , and security is severely lacking
Get to work at you own pace on graveyard , some foods and foutain drinks free

Having to pull doubles alot because employees didn't show
Working as a team in a friendly environment
I like the regular customers that come in every day.
The pay isn’t much for the amount of time that you work.
The only benefit employees get is free polar pops only while on the clock.

I like the fact that I would make someone's day by either greeting them upon their entrance into the store or their exit .
Working Late Night Shifts In Dangerous Area
Free Food
Meeting new individuals
Processes were a little outdated from what former company used.
being an exempt employee.
Close employment to my home.
STARTING WAGE, CURRENT $2.50 EMERGENCY APPRECIATION PAY This amount isn't enough for compensation during this COVID-19 pandemic. HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT has not improved (WHERE ARE THE CLEAR BOUNDARY PARTITIONS so we (the employees) can increase the level of separation to help flatten the curve. HAZARD PAY SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN TOP OF BASE WAGE; EMERGENCY PAY. An increase in HAZARD pay of $20 will greatly boost morale and attendance. I am on the front line, no masks, nothing more than sanitizer and alcohol wipes. Over and over I interact with customers during close encounters and have nothing more to protect myself, or my family I return home too everyday. I don't know who to talk too, or who to message to show that other areas of the workforce are on the front line because commodities are essential to everyone, if it's not me it's someone else, I have been proactive in implementing CDC recommendations and I feel a serious wage increase needs to happen, or these frontline workers will stay home, CLAIM CORONA DID IT which will be leading to more people who aren't working and I believe K have earned it. My response is for myself based on what current WORKING CONDITIONS are and for the conditions of everyone who is on the frontlines as well. Increase my wage....!!!!!
the people that I work with are very funny and kind I love my boss they are very understanding
Standing all day
Pay
Seriously nadaa
That it's a lying company
Not one thing at all
Nothing at all
Because you get a 5 minute break every two hours, like that's gonna do anything. Oh you want time off? That sucks because the manager already has it off. No discounts no free drink. Nothing
Nothing
Nothing this is the absolute worst company to ever work for. They abuse the handicap and discriminate against employees with Disability's. They are cruel and it's a hostile work environment. It's not what you know it's who you know. Different rules apply to different people. If they sleep with the boss they can do whatever they please. It's like a soap opera who is the company easy girl sleeping with this week. Vendor ( only married ones) or boss ( only married ones). They they get promoted. Don't know what they are doing. Go against the ADA.
Upper management does not care about their employees. Work a job of 3 with no pay incentive.
The only thing that was good about working for Circle K was the 401k
It was around 6 AM. It was really slow that morning, so I volunteered to take out the trash. That morning I found the strangest things I have ever found in the trash. First can I had to change had a full box of pizza on top. It was from the Little Caesars that was in the next shopping center. It was still warm and I think whoever put it there only ate one slice. But I found it in a gas station, so I didn't trust eating it. Next can I emptied had almost an entire milkshake in there, bought from the nearby Sonic. There were like four of them and they were barely touched. Like above, I didn't drink it. Besides, I found a cricket make a home in one of them. The last can was probably the most bizarre. Sitting inside a broken paint bucket, underneath two emptied 12-packs of Bud Light (glass bottles) were primed rifle rounds. They were never discharged and someone dropped like four of them in the same little bucket. All of this was found in one morning.
Surprisingly, at Circle K I've only had one truly bad customer. Even then, my coworkers and I agreed that he just needed some attention. I wasn't sure why he was so angry either; I was in the bathroom at the time. Last thing I heard was my boss telling him, "Good! I don't want to see you come back to the store!" The only real issue I've had were problems that I couldn't fix (mainly having to do with gas pumps or the car wash) or it would be a language barrier, usually with me being unable to speak Spanish and many people coming into my store being Mexican and not entirely that strong in English. However, at other jobs I've dealt with some angry people. Before being at Circle K I worked at both a Del Taco and at Arby's. Long story short, people are a lot less angry when they need coffee and gas than when they want food.
