The Director of Operations is a champion of the site wide Operations Strategy. He/she will be responsible for partnering with all functions within the business to develop, drive, and implement core business management system. We have an opportunity for a Director, Innovation to join our Apex, NC team. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Innovation to lead the development, integration, and validation of cutting-edge technologies for pool applications. This role demands a strategic thinker who can bridge internal and external technology advancements, drive innovation from concept to prototype, and align with business objectives. The Director will manage cross-functional teams in Apex and coordinate resources in India.
You will:
Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
Collaborate closely with Product Management to ensure that the technology roadmap supports and enables the product roadmap and business goals.
Lead and mentor cross-functional innovation teams in the US and India, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement.
Champion and facilitate the use of design thinking methodologies to drive user-centric innovation, ensuring that new technologies and capabilities are developed with a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points.
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new technology trends, market opportunities, and technical challenges that can be leveraged for future product development.
Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of innovation initiatives, including concept development, prototyping, testing, validation, and transfer to product development teams for commercialization.
Integrate application-level understanding of pool chemistry into prototype design and testing protocols to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Oversee resource allocation, project management processes, and budget adherence for all innovation projects.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and ROI of innovation efforts, and report progress to senior leadership.
Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external technology to expand the company's innovative ecosystem leveraging solutions from other industries to pool.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field; Advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in innovation management, R&D, technology strategy, or related fields, with at least 10 years in a leadership role managing global or distributed teams. Preferably in consumer products, water technologies, or related industries.
Proven track record of delivering successful technology-driven solutions, ideally in IoT, sensors and automation, or chemical applications.
Demonstrated expertise in leading design thinking initiatives and embedding user-centered design practices within teams.
Strong project and people management skills.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and influence at all organizational levels.
Experience working with multicultural, geographically dispersed teams and a demonstrated ability to bridge cultural and operational differences.
Familiarity with phase gate processes for innovation and technology development.
Compensation:
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $149000 - $276700 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstratable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. We have an opportunity for a Senior Tooling Engineer to join our Sanford, NC team. You will be responsible for multiple injection mold tooling projects to support plant-wide NPD projects. You will manage tooling projects from cradle to grave, including new tooling and managing replacement tooling. You will conduct tool mold flow analysis to ensure proper design parameters. You will utilize Lean tools (RCCM, 5-whys, A3, etc.) to improve downtime trends and reduce cost as needed. In addition, you will work with limited supervision indirectly lead others within the tooling department.
You will:
· Provide budgetary quotes and timing for new injection molding tools.
· Review 3D models of product design and drive design changes for improved product performance, decreased cycle times, and increased tooling life.
· Perform tooling design review and interface with product engineers for design changes, ensuring new tools conform to Pentair tooling standards.
· Perform mold flow analysis.
· Calculate press tonnage, cycle times, and piece part pricing.
· Monitor tooling builds to timeline, manage engineering changes.
· Coordinates sampling, metrology requests, and changes to tooling when it arrives on site.
· Liaison between design engineering and manufacturing on new products and product changes.
· Participate in lean processes to improve plant layout, process flow, and labor efficiency while implementing state-of-the-art ergonomic and safety standards.
Key Qualifications:
· Have earned a bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar background
· 7-10 years' experience in injection mold processing, tooling, and project management.
· Experience with managing injection molding tooling projects required.
· Injection molding processing experience required.
· SolidWorks (or similar design software) experience required.
· SolidWorks Moldflow experience required.
· Strong project management skills required.
· Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Utilize multi-function electric to lift/move/load/unload parts, to perform work center functions.
Deburr all sharp edges as needed utilizing a file, or other hand tool such as die grinder.
Clean parts and centers of chips and wipe dry.
Physically, lift and check all dimensions, machine to conform with finish drawing.
Make adjustments on machines as needed to produce quality parts within specifications and standards given/per piece.
Properly fill-out all paperwork, monitor coolant, and keep good housekeeping.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Continuously, walk or move from one machine to as many as three. Physically, load and unload parts. Step up to and down from elevator work platform and on to various parts of machine for wheel changes and cleaning.
Compliance with all rules and regulations, normal safety precautions.
Use precision measuring equipment, such as: micrometer, dial caliper, profilometers, lead checker, gash gauges, master, etc. to inspect rotors.
Physically, load and unload parts up to 40 pounds.

* Utilize idle time during the running of the thread forming machines to perform miscellaneous job assignments.

* Remove burrs and sharp edges, mark, identify, preserve and protect parts as directed.
* Make master rotors.

Adept at multi-tasking to champion new product development, and in parallel, sponsorship of production line development, including the design of fixtures and End-of Line test equipment through IQ, OQ, PQ approvals (Hardware, Software, and Firmware)
Drive project meetings with a focus on scope control, schedule updates, budget tracking, and risk management throughout the life of the project, and holding individual and teams accountable for deliverables.

Maintains awareness of technical progress and risks for assigned projects, confers with technical personnel to resolve issues, and drives corrective actions.

Key Qualifications:

Compensation:
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $95500 - $177300 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
