As part of the Operations team, the Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of loan applicants in the business purpose residential lending space. This role involves analyzing financial data, assessing risk, and making recommendations to ensure the integrity of our loan portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Review and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants.
Evaluate the viability of proposed real estate investments, including property value, market conditions, and borrower experience.
Prepare detailed credit memos with recommendations for loan approval or decline, ensuring alignment with company policies and risk appetite.
Identify potential risks associated with loan applications and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Work closely with underwriters and credit risk managers to ensure thorough and accurate risk assessments.
Monitor loan portfolio performance and report on trends or emerging risks.
Ensure all credit analysis and documentation comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate and organized records of credit decisions and supporting documentation.
Stay informed of changes in regulations and best practices within the residential lending space.
Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to gather necessary information and provide clear communication on credit decisions.
Participate in meetings to discuss complex cases, share insights, and contribute to decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in credit analysis, preferably within the residential lending or real estate sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and assess risk.
Knowledge of residential real estate markets and investment principles.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Drives development and maturation of complex credit and financial frameworks. Delivers cross credit, and credit impacting operational, financial and strategic initiatives to leverage asset specific insights and drive scale economies; i.e. Enterprise capital concerns related to Basel III impacts, fraud spikes and emerging trends, enterprise stress contingency lever submission and integration accuracy; finance/strategy/marketing data sourcing for Level Up new prime card product, Eligibility Expansion, Economic Capital, CRA marketing, Secured card and enterprise segment targeting.

Strengthens regulatory responses to ensure industry leading quality (Consent Order, Examinations, etc.), ensuring as well appropriate communication and collaboration with impacted stakeholders. Interacts with regulators and internal and external auditors related to bank credit risk appetite, stress test, provision, modeling issues and requests.
Drives remediation efforts by leveraging industry-leading subject matter expertise and experience to prioritize, strategize, and build consensus within the team and senior management (Audit findings, MRA's, etc.) across various departments.
Develops efficiencies and strategic improvements to Bank Credit programs (Risk Appetite, Effective Challenge, KRI's, RAMs). Leads collaborative engagements and creates best practices across the Bank Credit product teams and the horizontal risk-aligned teams to ensure proper identification of risks and emerging trends.
Responsible for the development and delivery of training to build technical and business acumen within the Bank organization.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Bank Credit Risk Analyst Principal, you will be responsible for developing and driving the frameworks for the Bank Credit Risk program that provides oversight and governance to its maturing processes, advanced governance and oversight capabilities. What you'll do:
Responsible for conducting statistical, econometric and financial analyses to identify and mitigate emerging credit risks across bank. Integrates artificial intelligence/ machine learning, credit and financial scenario modeling, complex data architecture, strategy, credit research, macro research and development, and design competencies. Delivers on highly complex credit and econometric solutions that mitigate the risk, costs and impacts of large and granular behavioral and macroeconomic credit risks.
Drives development and maturation of complex credit and financial frameworks. Serves as a key advisor and consultant to the Bank Head of Credit and SLOD Chief Credit Officer on risk management and mitigation efforts, a proxy / delegate in senior leadership forums.

Develops efficiencies and strategic improvements to Bank Credit programs (Risk Appetite, Effective Challenge, KRI's, RAMs). The Basel Measurement & Analytics (BM&A) group within TCIO is responsible for calculating, analyzing, and reporting firm-wide RWA for wholesale credit risk and retail risk stripes. The RWA measures feed into corporate functions to quantify and determine regulatory capital requirements and support external regulatory filings and disclosures. BM&A is responsible for the business requirements to develop and manage the Basel infrastructure and ensure calculations are in compliance with internal capital policy and guidance. In addition, BM&A supports ancillary activities to perform impact analysis on methodology changes driven by new rule proposals, support RWA component of CCAR, Resolution & Recovery, Pillar 3 Disclosure, and Quantitative Impact Studies (QIS) for regulatory agencies.
The BM&A Derivatives Team is responsible for assessing regulatory policy, driving enhancements to infrastructure needed to support risk regulatory reporting processes related to Basel methodology, and RWA reporting (specific to derivatives). The candidate will be responsible for producing RWA related to derivatives exposures under Basel 3 rules, analyzing quarter-over-quarter changes in RWA, working with LOB controllers and credit officers to determine variance drivers such as portfolio changes, policy updates and capital treatment, and generation of external regulatory filing schedules. The candidate will manage the reporting processes and be owner of data issue identification, tracking, and resolution.
Specific responsibilities include:
+ Monthly production cycle for RWA calculation and reporting, including Basel 3 Advanced, Basel 3 Standardized, CCP, and Supplementary Leverage Ratio
+ Provide analysis in support of RWA trends and forecast-to-actual variances
+ Support external regulatory filing deliverables including the FR Y-9C, FFIEC 101 and Pillar 3.
+ To perform ad-hoc quantitative impact analysis on the firm's RWA under Basel rules and regulations based on input parameters or infrastructure changes - specific to Derivatives risk stripe.
+ Perform quarterly stress testing to support CCAR, ICAAP and Risk Appetite deliverables.
+ To evaluate and manage controls on key processes and functions.
+ To prepare objective analysis that provides perspective to senior management to support decision-making on key issues related to regulatory capital.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Bank Credit Risk Analyst Principal, you will be responsible for developing and driving the frameworks for the Bank Credit Risk program that provides oversight and governance to its maturing processes, advanced governance and oversight capabilities. Conducts complex credit and financial analyses to identify and mitigate emerging credit risks across the Bank. Leverages data analytics, data insights and industry expertise to build fit for purpose and sustainable outcomes/solutions. Partners with first line Bank executives, Bank Compliance leadership, and other key executive stakeholders to drive strategic alignment of the Bank Credit Risk policy and oversight.
