City Bible Church company history timeline

1815

Established in 1815, PCBC was truly a work of God’s grace, where He brought people together in the community who had become convinced that Christians should follow the commands of scripture.

1951

Our journey started all the way back in 1951, with a mere 13 people gathered around a pot-bellied stove on a cold winter morning.

1967

In the fall of 1967, twelve young adults stood in Pastor Dick Iverson’s office, asking that he train them in their own church.

1988

Meeting in a small conference room in September 1988, eighteen men and women came together to form a different kind of church.

2003

A Bible study began in the summer of 2003 in response to the demand from people who were passionate about this church plant.

A Bible study began in the summer of 2003 in response to the demand from people who were passionate about this church plant. It was in the early fall of 2003 that God clearly led the leadership from HBC Oakville to be connected with the leadership from Calvary Baptist Church in Oakville.

2004

Since 2004, David has been formally engaged in the rigorous pursuit of Bible teaching through New Testament Greek and Old Testament Hebrew grammar, syntax, and textual criticism.

2010

In Spring 2010, the online program was started with a pilot group of 48 students in two courses and since then the number of students has outgrown the campus population and includes a full Bachelors Program online.

2011

In the summer of 2011, six people gathered together in Brantford and started to pray for God to do things in their city that only He could do.

2013

In the summer of 2013, the Elders at Hope Oakville discerned that the time was right to plant a new church in Brantford.

2015

In the early half of 2015, the Lord provided a team of faithful men to form what is now the leadership team- men who love and obey Christ, love His Word, love to serve His people, and love to proclaim the great Gospel about Him.

2016

City Bible Church finally launched in February 2016 at Warren A. McClaskey Adult Center in East Sacramento! In the summer months, however, the absence of air conditioning in our meeting space motivated us to pray for a new location.

2017

In 2017, a new church planting movement, The Great Commission Collective (GCC), was formed.

2018

In January of 2018 Mission City Bible Church joined the GCC.
