Alpharetta, GA, then known as town of Milton, got is charter in December 1858.

1863

Alpharetta has known its challenges, from the 1863 smallpox epidemic to the ravages of the Civil War, but has always found a way to persevere and even thrive.

1931

Alpharetta, GA was Milton County's up to 1931, after which Fulton and Milton County were merged to escape bankruptcy that ravaged the country following the Great Depression.

1932

In 1932, with the Great Depression ravaging the nation, Milton County was in a dire financial situation and merged with Fulton County to ensure continuation of services and future prosperity.
