1893

The city is the site of the state’s land-grant college, founded in 1893 as the Agricultural College of the State of Montana, now Montana State University-Bozeman.

1900

Because the army did not want Nelson to continue, much of the drive was done in the night when Story was able to sneak the cattle through. As a result, Bozeman began to grow reaching a population of nearly 3,500 by 1900.

1902

The first graduate degree was awarded in 1902.
