Delivers a safe and excellent customer service experience to our residents, members and patrons. Coordinate field/court set up and tear down at designated times at designated facilities. Update the Sports Hotline at least one hour before scheduled game time and throughout the day as needed. Coordinate all on-site operations and scheduling of game times for leagues and tournaments, as well as trouble-shooting problems and concerns that may arise with participants and/or spectators. Know and enforce departmental and facility policies, as well as all league rules and philosophies. Officiate league games if scheduled official does not show up and a replacement is not found in a timely manner. Assist Athletics & Facilities Supervisor with pre-season preparation, scheduled tournaments, scheduling of officials and equipment inventory. Keep Athletics & Facilities Supervisor informed of all positive or negative information regarding the fields/courts, officials, participants or general public. Evaluate and instruct officials in order to help them become better. Attends all staff meetings or training sessions as required. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a minimum of 18 years old; high school degree preferred. Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider and First Aid required within three months of employment. Experience and knowledge of the particular in-season sport at a high school level or above. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of youth recreational sports programs. Knowledge of facility operations. Effective oral communication skills necessary. Ability to provide excellent customer service skills and relate to guest of all ages and backgrounds. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the staff, supervisor, and the public. Ability to communicate in both written and verbal form. Ability to define problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to think quickly, maintain self-control, and adapt to stressful situations. Ability to work accurately with attention to detail. Ability to work the allocated hours of the position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position involves standing, walking and movement requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects and some medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Physical activities include bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, lifting, reaching, grasping, lifting/moving heavy objects, rigorous activities and repetitive motions. Also includes the necessity to communicate by talking, hearing/listening. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. OUR SPIRIT. Essential Duties: Conduct training sessions and events throughout the St. Louis region at Satellite Center locations. Develop relationships with area soccer clubs, schools, families, youth organizations and the broader community. Execute necessary logistics and administrative tasks to facilitate each training session and event. Create an energetic, fun and caring environment during training sessions to support learning and encourage the love of soccer. Attend outside events to network, build relationships and engage the community. Attend coaching education sessions. Invest time in further learning opportunities through coaching licenses and badges. Ensure the goals, strategy and measurable short-term and long-term performance targets in the community are met. Regularly provide updates on work activities, outside meetings, players' performances, and events. Contribute positively to team culture. Participate in team meetings and seasonal training sessions. Swim Instructors will monitor attendance policies and keep patrons abreast of class information and registration deadlines. As well as, ensure program safety by monitoring class area and notifying program supervisor of any maintenance or safety concerns, as well as documentation of accidents or incidents. Swim Instructors may utilize program equipment and supplies and creatively develop new uses for enhancing swim instruction and are encouraged to secure and maintain any discipline-specific certifications necessary. Swim Instructors for both Group Lessons and Private Lessons must attend all staff meetings or training sessions as required. Swim Instructor Job Qualifications - Must be knowledgeable in swimming technique and teaching skills with strong communication skills. Minimum of 1 year experience working in aquatic environment, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is preferred. Coordinate all on-site operations and scheduling of game times for leagues and tournaments, as well as trouble-shooting problems and concerns that may arise with participants and/or spectators. Know and enforce departmental and facility policies, as well as all league rules and philosophies. Officiate league games if scheduled official does not show up and a replacement is not found in a timely manner. Assist Athletics & Facilities Supervisor with pre-season preparation, scheduled tournaments, scheduling of officials and equipment inventory. Keep Athletics & Facilities Supervisor informed of all positive or negative information regarding the fields/courts, officials, participants or general public. Evaluate and instruct officials in order to help them become better. Attends all staff meetings or training sessions as required. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a minimum of 18 years old; high school degree preferred. Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider and First Aid required within three months of employment.
