NATURE OF WORK
This is generalized law enforcement and public safety work in the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, and apprehension of criminal offenders.
An employee in this class of work is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the protection of life and property. After completion of an initial training period, the employee is responsible for enforcing federal, state and local laws, and performing related police activities. Incumbents are involved in either patrolling an assigned area in a radio-equipped vehicle, or performing administrative, communications, public information and/or complaint duties. Under general supervision of a sergeant or other police supervision, the employee is required to exercise initiative and independent judgment as well as tact, courtesy and self-control in performance of duties. The employee is also expected to make decisions calmly and quickly in emergency or hazardous situations. Some positions in this class may include receiving in-service training in preparation for promotion or special assignment. Most positions require the employee to work on rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work is reviewed through reports submitted, observation and results obtained.

* Base pay: $36.20 hourly/$75,305.51 annually x supplemental pay (includes 2.5% First Responder and 2.5% Accreditation Pay) = $38.01 hourly/$79,070.79 annually

Work Environment:
* Duties are performed in multiple locations including police precincts, City offices and outdoors - may be required to conduct patrol duties by foot, bicycle or patrol car. City-Paid Medical Benefits:
* Group Health Insurance: The City pays for 100% of the cost for single coverage for full-time employees and 66.66% of cost for Dependent/Family Coverage. Upon retirement and separation from City employment, employees hired on or after 9/30/15 receive a monthly stipend of $500 per month until age sixty-five (65), and $350 per month thereafter; applicable toward retiree health coverage.

Retirement:
* Employee Contribution = 8.5% • Vesting = 10 Years

Holidays:

Employees may bank all or a portion of their hours to Annual Leave Accrual Bank.
Annual Leave:
Annual leave may be taken as earned. Maximum accumulation each fiscal year is 290 hours. At time of resignation or retirement, employee is paid for all annual leave accrued at their current rate of pay. Annual leave is accrued based on continuous, full-time service with the City, as follows:

Annual Leave Cash Out:

Floating Holidays:
Upon completion of (26) weeks of full-time employment with the City, employee shall be entitled to utilize one (1) floating holiday per fiscal year. Floating holiday shall not carry over to the next fiscal year.
Sick Leave:
Each employee earns (96) hours of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and unlimited accrual. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty-five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement.
Sick Day Bonus Plan (Perfect Attendance):
For every three (3) month period (October 1 - December 31; January 1 - March 31; April 1 - June 30; or July 1 - September 30) in which, no sick is utilized, an employee shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave credited for each three (3) month period (Up to 40 hours annually.)
Bereavement:
Qualifying City-paid Bereavement Leave as follows: • In State = Up to 3 Days • Out of State = Up to 4 Days - Employees on an eight (8) hour schedule may use up to five (5) consecutive work days.

NATURE OF WORK
Work is performed under general direction of the Transportation Supervisor.
This is skilled vehicle operation work in transporting passengers of a public transport system. Employees in this class operate passenger buses over prescribed routes within the City or on special charters (such as special events, camp program...). Additionally, work involves responsibility for the safe operation of passenger vehicles such as vans, minibuses, station wagons or automobiles in transporting clients. Incumbents typically transport individuals to clinics, doctors or other treatment facilities from private residences. Some employees in this class could also transport clients undergoing rehabilitation treatment at medical facilities or take clients shopping for basic necessities.
Drivers are responsible for the safety of their passengers and the vehicle operated as well as for completing the assigned route according to the prescribed time schedule. Duties involve collection and accountability for passenger fares according to an established rate schedule. Work requires the use of defensive driving skills and the courteous application of standard operating procedures, rules and regulations of the City. This is light manual work in the operation of motor vehicles used to transport residents of the City; typically frail, elderly, and disabled.

Paid Time Off

HOLIDAYS

NATURE OF WORK This is responsible, professional-level work involving the comprehensive public awareness, marketing, operations and administrative support functions for the Gas Department. An employee in this class is responsible for coordinating sales of natural gas to residential and commercial accounts, developing and implementing an integrated "natural gas" marketing and public awareness program to increase the number of residential, commercial and industrial gas customers, and performing various administrative duties in assisting departmental management in carrying out required administrative operations. Responsibilities include implementing new marketing programs designed to increase revenues, provide cost savings opportunities to new residential and commercial developments, and provide technical support and assistance to customers regarding energy-related decisions. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment in the development of marketing, public awareness and sales policy and strategy. Duties include managing a Public Awareness Program that meets federal regulatory standards. Other duties include managing various administrative functions such as purchasing, invoice processing, inventory control, customer service, records management and related program support. This position reports to the Gas Manager who provides guidance and general supervision and measures success by how effectively the Gas Business Development Coordinator provides customer service to our community collaborates with other city stakeholders, and increases customer accounts and sales volumes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Creates, establishes and maintains business relationships with site developers, builders, and businesses investing in the Sunrise community; responsible for recommending policy improvements to help obtain and retain gas customers; develops recommendations for changes to enhance customer growth and services.
* Tracks large customers' consumption over time for strategic purposes, forecasts revenue as part of the budget process and tracks actual consumption and revenue. Tracks pending projects from inquiry to completion. Understands and prepares cost studies of gas versus electric equipment, as needed, to promote the sale of natural gas; analyzes sales information while taking into account seasonal patterns and local competition; represents the City in various trade and industry associations.
* Confers with leadership in planning and development of an overall marketing strategy, plans special event presentations and appropriate bids and resolutions; designs and develops new programs that can utilize available distribution networks either service or revenue producing programs or both; assists in the establishment of policies, procedures and controls for the incentive programs; responds to requests for information by residential and commercial customers regarding gas service rates and appliance availability.
* Develops relationships and works closely with contractors, architects and engineers in the establishment of policies, procedures and controls for the sale programs, informing them of gas processes and end use equipment, as well as promoting gas utilization; coordinates the application and installation of materials, equipment and labor necessary to install gas fuel lines; prepares and routes paperwork for installation of new gas service and equipment; and maintains complete records of all builders and builders' activities.
* Collaborates with Project and Gas Managers in planning and preparing project budgets; ensures adherence to budget procedures and guidelines; provides pertinent information on revenue forecasts; supervises equipment purchase process from budgeting to receipt; periodic adjustments and budget transfers.
* Analyzes financial, procurement and administrative procedures for simplifications and improvement in efficiency; analyzes purchase orders to determine requirements; checks requisitions for completeness and accuracy; writes specifications and requisitions and assists in the selection of bids for departmental equipment or supplies.
* Develops comprehensive communication materials including brochures, bill stuffers and flyers promoting public awareness to customers, non-customers, emergency officials, excavators, and public officials. Delivers oral presentations to community groups, fire and emergency response personnel; measures the effectiveness of the outreach effort in communicating safety messages; documents program evaluation and develops supplemental information to ensure that program standards have been achieved; determines excavation damage trends and presents findings.
* Supervises administrative support, warehouse and maintenance personnel and engaged in preparation of damage invoices and billings for equipment or services, issuance of purchase orders and requisitions; ensures employees complete mandatory training; discusses work related problems with employees; coordinates personnel activities including personnel records, invoice processing, inventory control and related compliance related reports and the public awareness program.

EDUCATION
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in marketing, engineering, business administration, or a closely related field required.

5% Supplemental Pay:
Supervisory/Professional employees shall receive a five percent (5%) supplemental pay calculated on the employee's base rate of pay.

Annual Leave:

Upon completion of (26) weeks of full-time employment with the City, employee shall be entitled to utilize up to five (5) floating holidays per fiscal year. Floating holidays shall not carry over to the next fiscal year.
Perfect Attendance:
For every six (6) months period (April 1 - September 30) and (October 1 - March 31) in which, no sick or unpaid leave is utilized, an employee shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave credited. Employees who qualify for a consecutive Perfect Attendance benefit shall receive (14) hours of annual leave credited for each consecutive earning period.
Sick Leave:
Each employee earns (96) hours (12 days) of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and maximum accrual of 1,440 hours. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty- five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement.
Sick Leave Conversion:
After completion of one (1) year of continuous, full-time employment with the City, an employee may convert their unused portion of their first six (6) days (maximum of forty- eight (48) hours) of accrued sick leave into annual leave. Conversions are subject to the following: A minimum of 96 unused sick leave hours accrued prior to hours being converted, total eligible sick leave hours to be converted shall be reduced hour-for-hour by any sick leave hours utilized during the eligible benefit period, and conversion subject to annual leave accrual cap.

NATURE OF WORK This is highly responsible managerial work within a centralized purchasing operation. Minimum Requirements
All Building Officials, Plans Examiners, and Inspectors in any municipality within the jurisdiction of Miami-Dade County
(including the City of Miami Beach) requires qualifications for code enforcement personnel beyond those contained in FS
468. In addition to possessing the appropriate certification from the State of Florida Building Code Administrators and
Inspectors Board (BCAIB) all Building Officials, Plans Examiners and Inspectors must also be locally certified by the Board
of Rules and Appeals (BORA).
If an applicant for BORA certification does not possess a current certificate from the State of Florida Building Code
Administrators and Inspectors Board, the applicant must apply for a Provisional certificate as a prerequisite to "temporary
certification." Provisional certificates may be issued by BCAIB to newly employed or promoted personnel, but only to those who
possess the standards and eligibility requirement for a standard certification.
The term "certification", as used by BORA, shall mean compliance with the minimum qualification and experience for Building
Officials, Chiefs, Inspectors and Plans Examiners established by Chapter 8 Article II of the Code of Miami-Dade County and
approval by the Miami-Dade County Board of Rules and Appeals.
Certification by BORA is valid for the duration of the calendar year and must be renewed each January 1st. Applications for
recertification must be submitted to BORA by December 15th. As a prerequisite for annual recertification individuals must
have attended continuing education classes or seminars in their respective fields for a minimum of sixteen hours during the
previous calendar year.
Of the hours required a minimum of 12 hours shall be satisfied by attendance at courses and/or seminars provided by Miami-
Dade County, and a maximum of four hours may be satisfied by attendance at programs certified by:

Sick Leave:
Each employee earns (96) hours (12 days) of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and unlimited accrual. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty-five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement.
Sick Leave Conversion:
After completion of one (1) year of continuous, full-time employment with the City, an employee may convert their unused portion of their first six (6) days (maximum of forty-eight (48) hours) of accrued sick leave into annual leave. NATURE OF WORK
This is a paraprofessional position designed to relieve law enforcement personnel from non-police, non-hazardous service calls and duties.
Employees in this classification are responsible for assisting with law enforcement-related complaints which do not require arrest powers, but do involve traffic duties and responsibilities for the accurate, rapid and effective evaluation of, and response to, telephone calls for information and police assistance. Work is performed in accordance with prescribed law enforcement procedures and departmental regulations; however, incumbents exercise some independent judgement in the absence of immediate supervision in reacting to emergency situations. Supervision is received from a superior who establishes work schedules and reviews work through personnel observation and written reports for efficiency and effectiveness.
An employee in this classification will be selected for a primary assignment that will include one of the following: staffing the reception desk at the main Public Safety Complex or department substations; field assignment responding to and handling of calls for service, completing reports in the telephone reporting unit; providing traffic control at the Broward County Arena complex; working within the Support Services Unit or other administrative or specialized assignments that may be required or become available. Annual Leave:

Upon completion of (26) weeks of full-time employment with the City, employee shall be entitled to utilize up to five (5) floating holidays per fiscal year. Floating holidays shall not carry over to the next fiscal year.
Perfect Attendance:
For every six (6) months period (April 1 - September 30) and (October 1 - March 31) in which, no sick or unpaid leave is utilized, an employee shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave credited. Employees who qualify for a consecutive Perfect Attendance benefit shall receive fourteen (14) hours of annual leave credited for each applicable consecutive earning period.
Sick Leave:
Each employee earns (96) hours (12 days) of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and unlimited accrual. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty-five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement.

High school diploma: supplemented by five (5) years' construction experience in a structural discipline, three (3) of which must have been a supervisory capacity; or be a Florida registered Architect or Structural Engineer having practiced for at least three (3) years; or certified as a Standard (Building/Structural) Inspector by the State of Florida Building Code and Inspectors Board; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Note: A Bachelor or Associate of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Building Construction may be credited up to (3) years for a Bachelor or (1) year for an Associate Degree toward the required (5) years construction experience.

* Operates a swimming pool recirculation system, fresh water make-up and over-flow systems and filter cleaning system.
* Participates in performing custodial tasks as applies to pool decks and surfaces, offices, locker rooms, bath houses and other support buildings.
* Conducts chemical test for pool water quality and monitors pool water temperatures.
* Applies chemicals to maintain water quality standards; vacuums pool and cleans pool walls and back washes pool filters.
* Answers inquiries from pool patrons and gives assistance when needed.
* May operate and clean pool filtration equipment.
* Collects pool admission and registration fees.

Requirements
EDUCATION
* Graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D. equivalency diploma.
* PROOF OF THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF COMPLETED EDUCATION MUST BE SUBMITTED AS AN ATTACHMENT WITH APPLICATION. (Applications without attached proof of education will not be processed for consideration.)
EXPERIENCE
* Must have at least three (3) seasons (960 work hours) of full-time (or equivalent) paid experience as a lifeguard.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION
* Possession of a current Lifeguard Training Certification, which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid or equivalent
* Water safety instructor's certificate preferred.

Community Volunteer Patrol (CVP)

* Supports the Sunrise Police Department by providing administrative assistance, greeting visitors, assisting at special events and resident neighborhood patrol.
Sunrise Police Explorer Program
* Under the leadership of the Sunrise Police Chief, the Police Explorer program provides a means through which young men and women, through real life experience receive exposure to various aspects of Law Enforcement.
* Participants get to explore if they would like to pursue a law enforcement career. The Police Explorer program focuses on community service and promotes resident involvement. It also includes recreational activities and competitive events.
Sunrise Fire Rescue Explorer Program
* Among the longest volunteer programs, Sunrise Fire-Rescue has sponsored the Fire Explorer program for 40 years. The program is a career development opportunity for young men and women, ages 14 to 18, who are interested in pursuing a career in the fire service.
* At meetings throughout the school year, Fire Explorers are introduced to the basics of fire-rescue services, including basic life support skills such as CPR and first aid, firefighting techniques, hazardous material recognition and an introduction to advanced life support.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
* Under the leadership of the Fire Chief and team of Sunrise Bravest, the CERT volunteer program has spearheaded the Community Emergency Response Team.
* The CERT Program provides a critical and valuable service to the community by educating residents about disaster preparedness, hazard prevention, trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
Environmental Sustainability

Leisure Services Senior Center
* Volunteers lead recreational activities and classes such as Bingo, Dominoes, Line Dancing, Sewing, and various other clubs.

Leisure Services Programs Instructors

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
The City of Sunrise offers internships in the areas of administration, finance, urban planning, emergency management, human resources, engineering and special projects throughout the City. This is varied semi-professional work which may include, but not limited to, research, technical/financial analysis, special projects, preparation of written communications, critical review of documents and agreements, community engagement, interdepartmental coordination, project management, involvement in a wide range of municipal management and community development issues, and assisting in administrative/office management.
Hours: Up to 26 hours per week
Duration of Internship: 3 to 12 months (to be determined by department)
Compensation: Paid ($15.00 per hour) or 'For Education Credit'
