Pension, that's about it.

Total lack of leadership. Promotions are based on EEO numbers not capabilities and experience.

City of Dayton benefits

None, it's really the worst organization I've ever had the misfortune of working for. You're penalized for using PTO like sick leave for doctor apartments and taking care of your kids when they get sick.

What do you like best about City of Dayton's CEO and the leadership team?

Leadership is just about non existent. Managers and exempt employees are consistently late which means customers are not able to be properly taken care of when problems arise.

How would you improve City of Dayton's culture?

A complete change of leadership is really needed. They preach diversity, employee wellness, and every other buzz word, but act in a completely opposite way. If you're ever sick or need to see a doctor, they tell you to use vacation instead of sick leave, if you do use sick leave they write you up or reward you with poor evaluations.

How did you prepare for the City of Dayton interview?

Just pass. It really is not worth the time or energy. It's a horrible culture and environment.

What's the diversity at City of Dayton like?

Everything is based on numbers with Dayton. So they do a great job with diversity. They do a terrible job with competency. I've watched several times as the hardest working and most competent get passed over and the laziest are promoted because they care so much about their EEO numbers. They even send out emails encouraging the hiring of only certain demographics when the workforce becomes unbalanced.

What brings you the most joy at City of Dayton?

Absolutely not a thing. I've worked for fortune 500 companies before and lived for the challenge. This organization though only kills any intrinsically motivated employee. Managers seem to fill threatened when you make suggestions and love to reward employees with negative evaluations that have no metrics pertaining to job performance only personal opinions.
