City of East Lansing company history timeline

1907

First known as Collegeville, the city was redesignated East Lansing by the state legislature at the time of its incorporation in 1907.

1926

The city’s first zoning code, in 1926, was expressly intended to exclude other religious organizations.

1964

The school’s original focus on agricultural and mechanical arts later expanded, and its name changed four times before 1964, when it received its present name.

1987

Kevin S. Forsyth (M.S.U. ’91) was born and raised in the East Lansing area, graduating from E.L.H.S. in 1987.

1991

During the academic year 1991–92, he resided at 219 Bailey Street in East Lansing.

1992
