Marion County Health and Human Services is seeking a compassionate, energetic and flexible individual to work in its Horizon House Residential Treatment Facility. This individual will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide Person-Centered mental health treatment services in a 24-hour residential setting, serving adults with serious and persistent mental illness or chemical dependency. This position is an opportunity to build experience working in a therapeutic milieu environment, administering medications, maintaining documentation and communication with staff, and transporting residents as needed - ODL is required. This is a potential opportunity to gain hours for credentialling. Temp/On-call positions generally help cover 8-10-hour shifts as needed, the most emergent need is graveyard coverage. Temp/On-call Aides are required to cover at least two shifts per month and may take on as many additional shifts as they are willing/able.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Assists in assessing health and social service needs of a specific population through home visits and visits to other agencies and social services resources; refers clients to appropriate resource; advocates to obtain required services as necessary; provides information and education on health-related issues.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general direction of a supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.

* Provide oversight and Mental Health services in a residential setting serving adults with serious and persistent mental illness.

• Participate in Quality Assurance programs, the Pharmaceutical Services Committee, and any other facility committee or program that affects the medication pass and seeks to improve the performance and accuracy of the medication process.
• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this facility and that may be ordered for resident use by the attending physician or the Medical Director.
• Verify that any medications brought into the facility by a newly admitted resident are examined and identified by the attending physician or the facility pharmacy or pharmacist
• Follow facility policies and procedures regarding the destroying of medications; assist in carrying out these rules under the direction of the facility pharmacist or Director of Nursing Services, including the documentation requirements.
• Follow the labeling policies and practices of the facility.
• Ensure that all medications administered are properly labeled.
• Follow facility procedures in regard to charting medications.
• Assist in documenting and removing medications that are discontinued by the attending physician.
• Follow facility procedures governing drug receipt errors, including notifying the delivery source and the Director of Nursing Services.
• Ensure that documentation of the drug receipt error includes a written error report, signed by an observer/witness and you.
• Follow facility procedures in holding medications for residents who are transferred from the facility or when the attending physician discontinues medications
• Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed. Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered, including reason(s) for refusal.
• Promptly notify the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services of any errors or reactions to medications by residents.
• Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication treatment.
• Accurately measure, record, and report the vital signs of residents.
• Follow the facility's procedures allowing residents to self-administer his or her medications.
• Be familiar with the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms relative to the administration of medications as used by the facility, pharmacists, and physicians.
• Attend and participate in continuing education programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain your certification on a current status
• Agree not to disclose resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
• Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility's information system.
• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
• Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.

The full performance Intermediate Care Technician (ICT) Generalist is assigned to the Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This position serves as an advanced technician for outpatient care settings such as: primary care, mental health, and specialty clinics. As an ICT Generalist the incumbent may service in a medical center, community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC), or a mobile medical unit.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
* Patient Screening: Performing observation based screening and collecting patient information in collaboration with licensed personnel. This may involve completing clinical reminders, obtaining patient health history, chief complaints, medication history, and identification of health related conditions that may impact the patients health status. The incumbent will complete approved templates and tools, such as the outpatient intake form, normal result notes, and follow up treatment protocols established by the agency.
* Mental Health Services: Assisting in behavioral/psychiatric situations in an outpatient setting. This can include assisting licensed personnel with crisis intervention, management of aggressive or suicidal psychiatric patients, by providing one to one observations and applying prevention and management of disruptive behavior techniques (PMDB). Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient while promoting a sense of worth and dignity under the supervision of a licensed personnel.
* Clinical Tasks: Assisting outpatient licensed staff with the delivery of care to patients with complex, specialized, and potentially life threatening situations. Assist with preparing patients for medical evaluation, setting up equipment, passing instruments, and providing treatment during in person or virtual visits. The incumbent operates specialized medical equipment to obtain diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes. Responsible for collecting a wide range of specimens and preparing them for transfer to processing.
