PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the direct supervision of the Lead Physician and Clinic Director, the Staff Physician is responsible for providing primary care and assessing the health status and disease processes of our patients.
At recommended intervals and according to acceptable medical standards, the Staff Physician will perform appropriate physical examinations on patients of all types. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses based on subjective date, clinical findings, laboratory, and diagnostic reports. Staff Physician provides triage or triage back up to diagnose and treat acutely ill walk-in patients. Counsel patients and families regarding health, disease and available treatment options, and obtain proper informed consent as needed.

St. Anthony Medical Clinic practices care in a team-based setting. The Staff Physician is an active member of the healthcare and collaborative care team, contributing to and abiding by the team ground rules, working with other team members to ensure high quality care and attainment of team goals.
Provides patient care in the clinic during normal drop-in and appointment hours Mondays through Fridays.
Monitors medical treatment given to assure quality care, timely and appropriate treatment, and follow-up care; keeps accurate and complete medical records.
Works in an integrated setting with the behavior health teams via consultation, shared patient visits, warm hand-offs, and other patient care integration activities.
Coordinates referrals to other health care facilities; Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, University of California San Francisco, and other Community Health clinics.
Consults with the Lead Physician on clinical aspects of patient care when needed and is available as needed for clinical consultation with nurses and nurse practitioners.
Serves as an active member of the Clinic interdisciplinary team; participating in all appropriate, required meetings on and off-site. Maintains St. Anthony Medical Clinic policies and procedures.

Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine with a MD or DO degree.
Current California physician license.
Current DEA certification.

Working Conditions

DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.

The Emergency Department (ED) Physician will provide high-quality, on-site emergency medical care to veterans at the Charlie Norwood VA Health Care System. The physician will manage a range of emergency conditions in accordance with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform direct patient care in the ED, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and disposition of patients.
Conduct initial evaluation and emergent treatment of minor to life-threatening conditions.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Medical School: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
Licensure
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Graduate Training
Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training. For purposes of this standard, graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada. Descriptions of such programs are described below.
* An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics-gynecology, and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training by a recognized body of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
* A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by a recognized body of the American Medical Association, (AMA) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
* A fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or an institution accredited in the United States for such training.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician who will serve as a champion for the Patient Care Center Model (PCCM) for the Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) Healthcare Services Division (HSD). This position will oversee the implementation and monitoring activities of the PCCM to ensure compliance with the model expectations. This role will oversee healthcare service delivery provided by CHP Staff to inmates. Services include providing comprehensive medical care, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. This position will collaborate with the CHP to develop and implement individualized care plans for inmates which is essential in providing care in the PCCM.
This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health outcomes of a diverse population within a correctional setting and communities. The position will consult with CHP leaders and staff and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, nurse practitioners, and mental health providers, to ensure the delivery of integrated care plans. Any applicant for state employment will be expected to behave in accordance with this objective because the use of illegal drugs is inconsistent with the law of the State, the rules governing Civil Service, and the special trust placed in public servants.
