Position Summary
City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our exceptional team in the Endoscopy Department. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be an integral part of a specialized team that performs a wide range of endoscopic procedures critical to diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This opportunity is for per diem, 12-hour shifts, and for variable shifts. The per diem flat rate for this position is $78.524/hr and is also eligible for a unit differential up to $2.23/hr additional. As a successful candidate, you will:
* Endoscopic Procedure Assistance: Provide expert nursing care and support during various endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), bronchoscopies, colonoscopies, cystoscopies, laparoscopies, laryngoscopies, mediastinoscopies, thoracoscopies, and upper endoscopy.
* Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' well-being by ensuring their safety, comfort, and understanding of the procedures. Monitor vital signs, administer medications as necessary, and provide emotional support throughout the process.
* Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, anesthesiologists, and technologists, to ensure seamless patient care and the highest standards of clinical excellence.
* Infection Control: Implement and adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a sterile and safe environment for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete medical records, documenting the patient's condition, medications administered, and any complications during or after the procedure.
* Education: Stay current on the latest advancements in endoscopy and nursing practices, and provide education to patients and their families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care.
Your qualifications should include:
* Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer).
* Current California RN license
* Minimum of one (1) year related experience as a RN
* Requirement of 1-year perioperative experience or a formal Perioperative nursing specialty course completed prior to application or within 6 months of hire or transfer.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association

Aptive Resources is seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide holistic care to patients requiring surgical interventions at the Atlanta VA Health Center. The RN will work closely with surgeons and anesthesia care providers, functioning both independently and under the guidance of the Nurse Manager or designee.
Shifts: Duty hours range from 0700 to 1700 and 0700 to 2100, with potential for extended hours based on the severity of procedures, OR delays, or staffing needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Surgical Patient Care:
Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia care providers, and the surgical team.
Prevent infection through the use of universal precautions, aseptic techniques, and isolation techniques.
Operating Room Duties:
Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures.
Demonstrate proper aseptic techniques.
Operate and manage the mechanics of the OR table and lights.
Assist anesthesiologists as needed.
Position patients properly for surgical procedures.
Conduct sponge counts and complete surgical worksheets.
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU):
Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures.
Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery progress.
Administer medications and provide emergency care as needed.
Equipment and Safety:
Use and maintain OR mechanical equipment such as electro-surgical units, fracture tables, suction devices, and nerve stimulators.
Check all emergency supplies and equipment per unit routine.
Maintain good body mechanics and use safety protective devices to prevent injury.
Documentation and Communication:
Complete and accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient care.
Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal skills in communication with patients, families, and the surgical team.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.
Certification: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association. Current Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of current experience in an operating room setting, exclusive of agency assignments. Must have worked within the last six (6) months in an operating room setting.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. An Associate's Degree or diploma educational level is considered with a valid license and current experience.
Graduate of a professional nursing school approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
Proficiency in scrub and circulating duties for various types of surgeries (e.g., minor, rectal, abdominal, GU, eye, orthopedic, ENT, bronchoscopy, vascular, neurosurgery, and chest surgery).
Strong clinical skills in operating room and PACU settings.
Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
Ability to provide psychological support and handle emergency situations effectively.

Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse C-CCST (Critical Care Specialty Team) practices in a large tertiary academic medical center comprised of multiple hospitals and ambulatory sites with a Level I Trauma Center designation, ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Receiving Center designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center accreditation. Works under the collaborative direction and leadership of a medical director (board certified anesthesiologist) and a patient care manager and director. Meets qualifications, licensure, certifications and competencies as defined in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care. Utilizes skilled discretion and independent judgment to prioritize, coordinate, provide and document direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient-centered care. Serves as a critical responder to trauma activations, rapid responses, hyper-acute stroke activations, STEMI, sepsis alerts, Code Blues and Code Whites and must be able to keep focused in a fast-paced environment and deliver critical level nursing care and management of adult and pediatric populations with complex medical conditions. Demonstrates of high level nursing expertise in procedure related sedation for unstable and fragile patients. In addition, the CCST nurse facilitates patient flow through various methods of transport, maintains patient level of care and expedites diagnostic exams and interventional procedures to obtain patient diagnosis and treatment throughout the organization. Functions in a patient-centered care model of practice and performs the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) independently and in accordance with LLUMC's established Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory) to achieve proficient individualized physical, psychosocial and spiritual wellness and provide compassionate bereavement support as appropriate. Functions within the expectations of an accomplished professional nurse and meets nursing excellence standards to maintain Magnet Recognition as outlined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Engages in opportunities to directly and/or indirectly influence decision-making for bedside clinical practice by supporting and/or participating in professional governance councils, committees, task forces and staff meetings. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in adult and pediatric critical care and emergency nursing, patient transport and procedure related sedation. Inspires and adopts the transformation of evidence into bed-side practice to optimize patient outcomes. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. If hired into a Loma Linda University Health position prior to April 1, 2020, an Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing required. Minimum three years of experience in critical care or emergency nursing required, with at least one year in critical care required. If experience is in emergency nursing, level 1 trauma center experience preferred. Experience in a Loma Linda University Health System hospital preferred. External hires into the CN-C position are granted one year to meet CN-C criteria outlined in the Clinical Nurse Ladder handbook. The CN-C CCST is eligible to be promoted into the CN-D classification when criteria outlined in the Clinical Nurse Ladder handbook and job specifications outlined in CN-D job description are met.

Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) required within 90 days of hire but may be extended based on class availability. Moderate Sedation certification required and may be obtained during introductory period. Critical Care Registered Nurse certification preferred. Driver's License required.
