The journeyman electrician exists to ensure that the systems required for the safe operation of aircraft and the safety of passengers are operational and performing according to specifications and regulations. Assists the master electrician with the backup generators and transfer switches for these systems. The position installs, troubleshoots and repairs electrical, data and control circuits, troubleshoots and repairs the electrical components integral to the mechanical systems in the buildings and repairs airfield light components. Works on the electrical components of the baggage belts, automatic doors, automated access control system (AACS), and airfield lights. All other duties as assigned. Including the assembly of transformers, switches, pad-mounted facilities, metering, street lighting, capacitors and circuit switching & protection installations. * Participates as a mentor for Apprentices in the Apprentice Lineman Training Program. * Cut and clear brush at ground level and along aerial lines. * Troubleshoots during power outages, and participates in Safety meetings, and external and internal training sessions. * Uses various electrician hand tools, i.e. snips, screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, etc. * Available to perform other line work at required. * Perform other duties as assigned.
