ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Collect fares according to existing fare structure, inspect bus passes and issue valid transfers in a professional, courteous manner.
Operate the radio, farebox and other systems within the bus in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Assist the Land and Water Staff in performing topographic surveys using GPS/Transit survey equipment for projects related to conservation, such as grassed waterways, animal waste control, erosion control, etc. Also, use Survey Equipment to stakeout projects prior to construction, and collect documentation throughout the construction process to ensure specs. and standards are met.
Assist with mapping features within Ozaukee County using ArcGIS. Projects will include maps of farm fields that include but are not limited to the following attributes: Name, field name, acres, crop year, identified crop, cover crop, etc. Data collection may be required in this project via field spot-checks.
Assist with agricultural research at the County's HWY 57 Demonstration Plot. This project will consist of the planting of cover crops, corn, soybean and wheat crops, monitoring, harvesting and data collection. Soil Temperature readings, photographs, and notes will need to be taken weekly, if not daily.
Assist with calibration, and use of county rental equipment: Tractor/Interseeder, Airseeder, Crimper.
Attend and assist with the setup, presentation and cleanup of community education events such as field days, workshops, and the Plot Day held at the HWY 57 Demonstration Plot alongside The Clean Farm Families Producer-Led Watershed Group and Ozaukee County Demo Farm Network.
Assist staff with collection of water samples from local streams following the Water Action Volunteer protocol and the Poseidon Pellet research plot.
Extracurricular:
Outside of these duties already listed, there may be opportunities to assist and shadow the Zoning and Sanitation staff, as well as the Planning and Parks Dept's Fish Passage Program.
A summer project of the Intern's choosing will be assigned.
Education/ Skills Required
Applicant must possess or be pursuing a degree in natural resources or other related environmental fields. Computer skills, the ability to navigate and understand maps (aerial, soil, and topography) is required. Experience, either hands-on or in class, in ArcGIS, GPS and agriculture is desired.
Applicant must have the ability to work with limited supervision and establish priorities to complete tasks given to them. They must be reliable and have the ability to stay on task. Indoor and outdoor work is required, and infrequent heavy lifting may be included when working with the tractor and interseeder.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform limited repairs and preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, filter replacements, tire rotations, minor adjustments, etc.
• Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections; identify, record, and report equipment deterioration for replacement or repair
• Assist mechanics with repairs and projects as assigned by supervisor

• Fuel and wash Company vehicles

Title - Conservation Intern - Limited Term Employee (LTE) Maximum 1199 Hours This internship position provides technical support related to soil and water conservation through means such as promoting soil health, agricultural engineering, GIS mapping, and community education and outreach. Employment period is between May - August 2026 at a pay rate of $17.53/hour. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Duties/ Responsibilities
Assist the Land and Water Staff in performing topographic surveys using GPS/Transit survey equipment for projects related to conservation, such as grassed waterways, animal waste control, erosion control, etc. Also, use Survey Equipment to stakeout projects prior to construction, and collect documentation throughout the construction process to ensure specs. and standards are met.
Assist with mapping features within Ozaukee County using ArcGIS. Projects will include maps of farm fields that include but are not limited to the following attributes: Name, field name, acres, crop year, identified crop, cover crop, etc. Data collection may be required in this project via field spot-checks.
Assist with agricultural research at the County's HWY 57 Demonstration Plot. This project will consist of the planting of cover crops, corn, soybean and wheat crops, monitoring, harvesting and data collection. Soil Temperature readings, photographs, and notes will need to be taken weekly, if not daily.
Assist with calibration, and use of county rental equipment: Tractor/Interseeder, Airseeder, Crimper.
Attend and assist with the setup, presentation and cleanup of community education events such as field days, workshops, and the Plot Day held at the HWY 57 Demonstration Plot alongside The Clean Farm Families Producer-Led Watershed Group and Ozaukee County Demo Farm Network.
Assist staff with collection of water samples from local streams following the Water Action Volunteer protocol and the Poseidon Pellet research plot.
Extracurricular:
Outside of these duties already listed, there may be opportunities to assist and shadow the Zoning and Sanitation staff, as well as the Planning and Parks Dept's Fish Passage Program.
A summer project of the Intern's choosing will be assigned.
Education/ Skills Required
Applicant must possess or be pursuing a degree in natural resources or other related environmental fields. Computer skills, the ability to navigate and understand maps (aerial, soil, and topography) is required. Experience, either hands-on or in class, in ArcGIS, GPS and agriculture is desired.
Applicant must have the ability to work with limited supervision and establish priorities to complete tasks given to them. They must be reliable and have the ability to stay on task. Indoor and outdoor work is required, and infrequent heavy lifting may be included when working with the tractor and interseeder.

TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Substation Engineering Interns for our Summer 2026 intern program out of our Madison, WI Office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2026 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.
Responsibilities
* Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support, etc.
* Assisting substations engineers in design work and project calculations
* Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation
* Support the preparation of reports, plans and specifications for client
* May work on field assignments as needed
* Will be supported by leaders, mentors and teammates
* Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary
Qualifications
* Must be at least 18 years old
* Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
* Minimum GPA of 3.0
* Ability to work both independently and in a project team with demonstrated oral communication, professional judgement and team building skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
* Willingness to learn, and benefit from professional judgment and critique.
* Willing to be a problem solver and overcome issues along the way.
Preferred Qualifications
* The candidate should have a strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
* Has taken any Power, Power Systems, and/or Circuit courses
* Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCad, MathCad, ESRI, MicroStation, Bluebeam, Aspen, Solidworks etc.) is preferred but not required

General Description Performs skilled work relating to the maintenance and repair of the City's water distribution system, buildings and grounds, and other facilities. Work Schedule: Hours are normally Monday through Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm (Four - 10 hour days for 40 hours per week).
Essential Functions
* Operate maintenance equipment necessary to perform the job such as a mechanical valve turner, line trimmer, lawn mower, and weed sprayer.
* Perform daily, routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
* Maintenance of water mains, service valves, and hydrants.
* Maintenance of metering stations, pumping stations, reservoirs, and elevated towers.
* Maintenance, service, and repair of pumps and associated equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and understand technical information. Ability to accurately maintain simple clerical records and perform simple arithmetic computations. Ability to drive a light pickup truck with trailer. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with business representatives, elected officials, department heads, the general public, and other City employees with courtesy and tact. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and to work on construction sites.
